Re: Question about logging time on privately operated airplane.

Oh - Ok, so that was the rule at one time though? Absolutely correct, but that was back in the day we had to do a Senior Commercial before we got our ATPL. It all went out the window with the old ANOs. For the younger crowd around here (gees, even I make myself feel old... ), befor...

Re: Whats With YYZ Lately??

IFRATC, I understand the limitations of the Canadian system, and to a certain point the "resistance" in the GTA to facilitate the transit of VFR traffic. But - and this is NOT an attack on any individual or group - I seriously think YYZ suffers from Biggest airport in the country syndrome. I regular...

Re: Question about logging time on privately operated airplane.

For privately owned and registered aircraft, there is no requirement for a checkout.... insurance on the other hand.... Anti, close but no cigar mate ;-) It is 100% correct to say that for single pilot/non high performance airplanes in privates hands there is no training requirements, things change...

Re: Question about logging time on privately operated airplane.

Actually, I don't think that's quite true. For PPL, I think you are limited to 7 or 8 pax and a certain gross weight. HS, Not quite true. There is NO pax limits nor weight limits for a Private pilot. Private pilots can fly any airplanes rated on their licenses. 401.26 The holder of a private pilot ...

Re: Rec Permit Pilot fliyng into the US

Hundreds of Can UPP fly to Oshkosh each year. KOSH is a totally different issue all together. The EAA negotiates a bunch of waivers with the FAA that applies to any EAA members. When I first started to go with the CJ, I would be issued a CofA validation by the EAA which was valid only for my KOSH t...

Re: Cheyenne 400 LS vs. MU-2

I haven't flown either type, so I can't really comment on either. However, since you should buy an airplane for 80% of the flight need, I would seriously consider a Jet. 1000nm with 6 to 8 pax is somewhat a serious load. Now a days, there are plenty of good Jets available for great prices. If the cl...

Vue qu'ils ne so...

Re: Financement

Re: IFR flight planning minimum

+1 on Rockie, BTD and Altiplano The wx at destination is not a real factor in the decision to commence a flight. As long as you have a legal alternate and the takeoff minimums, you can go. 100% legal. Now, this being said, there is much more involved with the go/no go decision. The biggest one might...
