Stopping all sked service. Concentrating on charters only. Hopefully the cuts won't be too deep!

Tony While I do respect the fact the industry constantly changing, and there are many airlines out there asking pilots to work in unacceptable conditions for very unacceptable pay. I do not agree with you analysis of Zoom being that same category. First off, Zoom gave the pilots a new payscale apprx...

Re: Zoom Expansion

It looks like Zoom is expanding into bigger markets!! Should be interesting. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20060804.RTICKER04-4/TPStory/?query=zoom My take on this article; there will be a new British based airline named Zoom headquartered in the U.K. and owned by the principals ...

Brampton is pretty easy commute. Some areas are more difficult than others (ie. north west). I am in the NE section and can be at the airport in as little as 15 minutes. Ususally add an extra 10 or so for rush hour (7-9 am and 5-7pm). PM me if you want to be set up with a really good real estate age...

Actually they work hard mostly over the summer. The remainder of the year is average, some months busier, others slower.

As far as hiring, they are becoming more base specific, in fact I think they might be looking for YVR based guys. Not 100% on that though.

ramp rat, All airlines have their issues, and I personally don't care (no disrespect, because I have been there too) if ground handling is the main reason or not. I just want to know if WJ really works hard (and what are they doing)to better their OTP, because I have not seen it. I know that AC and ...

Sorry I did not intend to make this a WJ vs GG fight. There are always going to be ground handling issues, at any airline. I also understand things like controllable vice uncontrollable delays, door closing times, etc.... I also know how times sometimes get passed along (ie. giving a sked time even ...

I flew between YYZ and YUL the last few days, but those were the most recent flights. Yesterday am out of YUL. Beautiful day, cold, but sunny. Same with YYZ. The flight departing prior to mine was also late. So if 20 min turns are to tight, then why not give more time for the turns. The reality is 2...

WestJet and OTP

This post is not intended to be a bashing of any kind, but what is the deal with WestJet and their On Time Performance. Maybe someone who works for them or has had a similar (or opposite)experience can enlighten me. I have flown WJ 20+ times in the last 2 years, twice in the last few days. Out of al...

As Sage said, Jazz is the second largest airline in Canada, followed by Westjet.

I know that Jazz falls under the ACE Aviation umbrella, but they are a completely separate airline, with their own OC. In fact, Air Canda has to purchase the seats (on Jazz) that they intend to sell to the public.

The pilots received a very nice pay raise last year. I will not say what it is exactly, because I am not 100% sure (comparable to SSV & AT), however it is very rewarding for those who stay with the company. So far very few have left, or are planning to leave.

So boeingboy first you put down Zoom's VP Tech Ops, then you sling mud at one of their dispatchers (BTW in a class A dispatching system it is the dispatchers job to know everything that goes on with the aircraft). What is your deal here?? In a previous post you lead people on to think that you are a...

KFCpilot Actually it good for the pilots as well. Due to the fact that Sky does most their flying in the winter, they would have to lay off many of their pilots over the summer when the flying is not as heavy. Good way to keep the guys working IMHO. They (Canadian pilots) also make bags of money whe...
