Recruitment Personnel List

Hello, I am looking to compile a list of CPs/DFOs for a current job search/upcoming road trip. I have looked on PCC and company websites, but it seems that in some cases the information is not current. I can only speculate this may be due to all the movement at the regional level. I would like curre...

Re: Resume Building

I can imagine the CP is busy and it would be hard to see them in person if you just show up. I've had little success being able to get them on the phone, or reply to my follow-ups. Hopefully a fellow pilot would have more integrity than to bin my resume instead passing it to the CP; however, I see y...

Re: Resume Building

Thanks for the reply awitzke!

I do have a MIFR and the ATPLs written but don't seem to know the right people. Looks like I'll have to change that and head out on the road this spring. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated.

Re: Resume Building

I will put out some feelers to see if I can extent my network. The majority of the people I know are searching for jobs as well. With that said, I don't know how much help they will be since they are competing for the same jobs. I am not against working my way up or putting in my time at a company. ...

Re: Resume Building

I have completed the ATPL exams but haven't seen a difference in the responses received. Another hurdle is that I have low multi time and operational experience. Should I be seeking out dispatch/ramp positions? How can I be competitive with all of the people recently laid off that have type ratings,...

Resume Building

Hello, I have around 900 hours and am looking for ways to build up my resume to get noticed by operators. Below is a list of things I have completed to date: - ATPL written exams - First Aid/CPR/AED - Dangerous goods/WHMIS - Second language (self study) Any other ideas to add to my list would be gre...

Re: SARON Info/Study Material

Thanks Cessna Driver - I am aware of the search function

I heard there was recently a major overhaul to the exams. With that said, what performance charts, weight and balance, and turbine questions are people seeing with these changes?

Thank you.

SARON Info/Study Material

Hello, I've been going through past topics on the SARON written and wanted to see if anyone had any current (2015) info on the exam. More specifically the types of performance charts, weight and balance, and turbine engine theory questions. I have been studying from Aerocourse, FGU, AIM and the TC S...

Re: Who is hiring FOs right now?

There is a lot of great advice above, thank you! Going back to instructing really isn't an option right now. Looks like I will need try a little harder in the hiring process to offset being under the sweet spot for hours. Being an introvert will make it challenging but it is good to hear methods how...

Re: Who is hiring FOs right now?

I did not receive any responses - only auto-replies. I hold a current multi-ifr, and have a fair amount of life experience. I am looking for a FO position on a turboprop/light jet with room for advancement within the company. I agree that the market is flooded with people who are as qualified or mor...

Re: Who is hiring FOs right now?

Thanks Stef! I am starting to make a list of where I think I would be a good fit. Hopefully from there I can start building a rapport with those companies. Andy_mtl - I am sitting at around 900 hours of mainly instructor time. I have one of the ATPL exams done and I am working on the other. Sent out...

Who is hiring FOs right now?

Hello After sending out a few rounds of resumes to most of the companies in the country I am starting to wonder if anyone is hiring FOs right now. I have received little to no response and have been told that emailing resumes is not an effective way to get a job within this industry. My network of p...

Re: Current Info on SAMRA Written

Thanks for the info Contactapproved. I have been mainly going through the Study and Ref Guide which has been a process with the AIM, FGU, and Air Command. I am learning a lot and find it all pretty interesting for the most part. I have a copy of the Aerocourse and have been doing the practice questi...

Re: Instrument Rating

Thanks for the info. I will be contacting schools next week. Having been in the instructor roll my preferance would be to find someone with real ifr experience but I understand that may be hard to find. Regardless I think its only fair to expect competence as well as honesty in an instructor. As an ...

Could someone PM me or recommend a school/instructor? I have been looking into a few schools in the country.

Cornwall?
Harvs?
Pro-IFR?
Moncton Flight?

Please comment on the IFR program at these schools.

Gilliam Air - BN2 position

Looking for info on this company but didnt come up with much.

Is it a seasonal position or do the BN2s fly all year?
Are they strictly a VFR operation?
Whats the pay/rotation?
What kind of routes do they do?
Has anyone heard back?

All the best to those who applied.

MN

Mathias,

I would suggest doing the group 1 due to the lack of PC12 operators looking for FOs. A few years back when Airsprint had a bunch I would say go for the group 3.

Best of luck!
