This problem is generally caused by the degredation of the microphone for the ANR circuit, causing a feedback loop. You can replace the microphone your self. I've heard of pilots logging both ways and having no problems getting their ATPLs signed off in the end, so take your pick.
I log IMC = IFR FLIGHT - 0.2 ground, regardless of WX.

They get their Canadian CPL w/ MIFR and I think there is a requirement for 20 hrs turbine. In china they only need that to convert to Chinese ATPL. I know MFC gets their students done fast. One word of advise, it will be your English skills that will hold you back if they are not top notch. Good Luc...

they are still advertising that it is approved in their literature. Im taking it right now. I think the material they cover is relevent and thurough, (they use jeppesen maintainence manuals as texts) but the exams are lacking in terms of diffuculty...you can easily whip through entire units in hours...
