dreamhost.com is a great hosting company.
Their interface is SOO much easier to use than GoDaddy's.
Alot of features are included like MYSQL and easy one click installs for galleries, blogs etc etc.

I was in the CZ when they called up. "Simulated" ELT/SAR exercise at a grass strip just east of the field. They were homing in on the simulated ELT signal. The flightcrew described that they were going to be flying by the field, low level <2000ASL for an inspection, dropping message bundles and then...

So I was taxiing a 172 from our hanger out to the flightline this morning and as I started to move, this incredible stench reached my nostrils! I started looking around inside the plane to see what it could be. After I took the plane back to the hanger, I searched through the plane, assuming that it...

How about the Fuel Truck slalom - a timed event.
A course is setup down the ramp with various aircraft.
The aircraft start small and then become bigger as the course continues.
Bonus points to fuel each plane as you go by.

King-Air 100 Empty Weight & Moment?

Hi All, I'm running a commercial ground school and for some weight and balance exercises I want to use a King-Air 100. I have a training manual for the aircraft but I don't have an empty wt & moment to use. Does anyone have one in their fleet that they could check the numbers for me? many thanks, MC

we have a 702/703 and an FTU. For our flight time calculations, TC wants to see all flying that you have done. Whether it is 406(training) 702 or 703, it must ALL go on the record. Previously we were just keeping track of 702/3 flying. I guess the idea is that if you did training all day than did a ...

The balloon event occurred about 6-7 years back.
At the time they did have a human observer.

Although it would look kinda cool to see a robot arm let go a balloon as part of the AWOS :)

anytime I see an odd remark I call up FSS and ask the briefer what they think it is. Usually they take a poll from everyone and come up with something.

Interesting one I found out of Waterloo - CYKF was

Supposedly the helium balloon that they used disappeared at 400 AGL

The crash was at Brantford, CYFD, not Brampton. My boss was away for the day, making me Acting Airport Manager. I was sitting beside the UNICOM radio, I had just finished my lunch. The radio blurted out a Mayday call. I turned to the window, looked up and saw the aircraft bank to the right and then ...
