I was in the CZ when they called up. "Simulated" ELT/SAR exercise at a grass strip just east of the field. They were homing in on the simulated ELT signal. The flightcrew described that they were going to be flying by the field, low level <2000ASL for an inspection, dropping message bundles and then...

I started looking around inside the plane to see what it could be. After I took the plane back to the hanger, I searched through the plane, assuming that it...

King-Air 100 Empty Weight & Moment?
Hi All, I'm running a commercial ground school and for some weight and balance exercises I want to use a King-Air 100. I have a training manual for the aircraft but I don't have an empty wt & moment to use. Does anyone have one in their fleet that they could check the numbers for me? many thanks, MC

we have a 702/703 and an FTU. For our flight time calculations, TC wants to see all flying that you have done. Whether it is 406(training) 702 or 703, it must ALL go on the record. Previously we were just keeping track of 702/3 flying. I guess the idea is that if you did training all day than did a ...

They were based out of Brantford - CYFD, down at the other end of the field where I work. 2 DC-3's are still falling apart outside. G-DOG & G-GKE If you want some DC-3 airframes and a bunch (11?) engines. This is the place to come for them. When they were flying, they flew quite a bit. Usually a fli...

The crash was at Brantford, CYFD, not Brampton. My boss was away for the day, making me Acting Airport Manager. I was sitting beside the UNICOM radio, I had just finished my lunch. The radio blurted out a Mayday call. I turned to the window, looked up and saw the aircraft bank to the right and then ...

Same thing happened in Brantford in an Aztec with 2 TC folks. 4" frm tips on both props were bent 70-80 degrees back. The plane sure sounded funny as it was on the overshoot, alot of noise and not much speed. Of course it had to happen on Friday the 13th at about 3pm. Stupid things always happen lat...
