Re: Jobs in Quebec for an Anglophone
I wouldn't waste time and money doing road trip stops in Québec. Firstly your value to a Québec company with French customers is way lower than that of a French speaking candidate. Secondly you will find that the Québec jobs are reserved for Québecers attitude mentioned by Panama Jack is alive and ...

Re: Has TC stopped publishing the Aviation Safety Letter?
Well I got the email today that the ASL was available. Unfortunately by available TC meant: 3/2014 Please note that ASL 3/2014 has been temporarily removed and will be back soon. Indeed ahramin is correct, we quickly noticed that the "accessible" PDF posted had a problem with photos, which displaye...

Re: Has TC stopped publishing the Aviation Safety Letter?
Perhaps I did. I Will await ASL's response to why after stating he did not wish to insult anyone he chose to add the backhanded qualifier that someone who identified with such an operstion might feel targeted. He can PM if he likes and I will delete all my posts. It is called marginalizating of dis...

Re: Has TC stopped publishing the Aviation Safety Letter?
I'm suspicious. Is this really the letter guy or just the newest multi from Smith Falls? I'm it Pop... this was my last issue as editor as well, I am retiring in March. As for what happens next, not sure, but trust me it has nothing to do with the $55! The online versions of the ASL in both languag...

Re: Has TC stopped publishing the Aviation Safety Letter?
Voila... sorry for the delays... (and for the Blackfly cartoons... but they ended a while ago... I suppose they eventually crashed and went out of business...)

Re: Acronyms
Thks for the feedback. Too academic, too dumbed down, I guess there must be a happy middle somewhere - it's a wide audience to please. In any event this audience will shrink, as the ASL will be on the Web only as of 1/2012 (not my decision), so no more paper or plastic wrapping to throw away doc! PM

Re: FISE Changes
I only found out about this useful link, by NavCanada, through this site. I hate how things like this aren't published in any TC pub. http://www.navcanada.ca/ContentDefinitionFiles/Services/ANSPrograms/RCORedesign/Launch_en.pdf FYI, the following article was published in Issue 2/2010 (last April) o...

Obituary , CBAA's J-D Lyon 1933-2010
FYI - for those who deal or have dealt with the CBAA, the following obituary was in today's Ottawa Citizen. Nice man who did a lot for the CBAA, I met him on several occasions in the 90's. PM http://www.legacy.com/can-ottawa/obituaries.asp?Page=Lifestory&PersonId=145373353 John-David Lyon LYON, John...

Re: College of Pilots?
I think it would be better if TC advised members of the industry of what is happening and give us the contact info of the college and allow us to contact them. This could be done thru the safety letter. I could not agree more. If any one of the principals wants to contact me and submit an article w...

Re: Have you taken an underwater egress course?
Although the Coroner has now recommended it, I have a sinking feeling that the printing of Pro-Aviation's "infommercial", as Doc would call it, in the TC Safety Letter, is their intended response. It is not. You have my word. As Driving Rain said, and as proven by the so-called "Floatplane Safety R...
