Re: Hiring?

I'll dispel any concerns about being a non french speaker. I'm an Anglo with poor french language skills (they have improved considerably since I started here) I can rattle off a PA and crack a few jokes en francais. Been here 6 years and its never been an issue, everyone is really chill about it. T...

Re: Hiring?

Ground schools will be running into the new year. You can expect hiring for all types 330/310/737/320. We'll all be flying the bus family within a few years. 737 is great if you like turns and being home more often than not. Airbus if you like jet lag ;) It's a great place to work many of us hope to...

Re: AT Pilots Reach TA

Anytime a pilot group in the industry improves their WACON I say good on them, I hope they make money than me, means we get to use them as a benchmark the next time we negotiate.

So as an Air Transat Pilot, I say nice job Sunwing Pilots!

Cheers

Re: Air Transat hiring and Groundschool 2015

Hi Aviators how have you been. It s been a while since the last update any news ?? the closing date for 2016 collect was on Jan 16th. ***IF YOU LOOSE YOUR SA GET OUT OF THERE*** I think everything has been held up due to the contract negotiations. Just a hunch though. Last bid showed a few unfilled...

Re: Air Transat hiring and Groundschool 2015

Does anyone know if there is going to be a November ground school? I've been sitting in the pool since my interview in July, and starting to wonder if I will indeed get a call. I sat in the pool 10 months..they'll call just be patient :) No idea about nov GS but with the amount of hiring going on I...

Have any seasonal DEC been hired at AT?
Not to my knowledge but I'm a very small cog in this machine :)

Re: Foreign Workers in Canada

Few things, the Union at TS does favour Canadian Seasonal Pilots and the deal is still being worked out. If they manage to work something out and can hire more Canadian Seasonal pilots they will that will knock the Foreign crewed aircraft down a few tails. (also as an aside there are expansion plans...

Re: Air Transat Jumpseat

Go to the crew counter with your pilots license, company ID in tow and a RAIC if you have one. Be there at least 1.5 hours before the flight. Once the flight closes if there is a free seat you'll be issued a ticket. It costs you Zero dollars. Basically its the way it should be easy and free.. And Mi...

Re: Air Transat Phone Interview

it'll be a few standard interview type questions, and have you run over a basic synopsis of your career to date. Nothing overly challenging. At the end they'll ask you how your french is, don't BS them just be honest. There are plenty of non french speakers here so its not make or break. As for deta...

Re: Do people aspire to be corporate pilots?

Perhaps I'm an oddity here but I'll weigh in... I'm a former corporate pilot who is now flying for an airline.. I love my job and after making the jump to the big(er) jets the mystique is gone and Tbh I had more fun flying smaller stuff and when I taxi by a citation X or a Challenger 300 I get more ...

I understand a GS started yesterday, I think there will be another one in may. If you're in the pool keep that phone close! Though don't get discouraged it took them 10 months to call me.

Re: AC or AT?

Like most of us, pick the one that calls first... Both are great Gigs, I landed at TS (My French is basic and there are plenty of anglos on the property despite what some say here). Its a great place to be. Many of my friends at AC are similarly happy with their jobs as well....

Re: Air Transat hiring and Groundschool 2015

Thanks tbaylx I'm not quite in a position to apply yet as I still have a commitment to my current employer for 6 months or so but it will be interesting to see how the contract goes in the spring. Hopefully a good outcome. It is also promising to hear that the new hires are less likely to be laid o...
