Re: Low vis/reduced vis operations

So if nobody is allowed to taxi then why does the ground controller issue taxi instructions? And then turn around and file a CADORS on you? One would think if you were given instructions you'd be ok to go.

kash evacuations

Just wondering if anybody knew what companies are doing the flying for the latest evacuations. I read an article saying there were Dash 8's and Twin Otters making flights to Cochrane and Greenstone (is that Geraldton?) Just curious.

freezing fog

Just wondering if anybody can tell me what freezing fog is like. Does it form ice on an airplane, or is it more like ice crystals? I have never flown through the stuff and have never really seen much written on it in any books. Curious to know what to expect if one were to shoot an approach in the s...

CYYZ how can you compare the government allowing people to smoke to allowing people to travel on an airplane operated by a company with a shady history? The government makes sure people know what may happen to them if they choose to smoke. Do you think they warn the passengers who travel on crummy a...

Well what about Red Lake? They have guys on the ramp there too. It wouldn't be a bad place to live at all. Tough to find housing, apparently. Not a bad town though.

not too sure, but I'd bet that you'd probably be able to get a ride down to ywg on a company flight for free. You could do all your Transport and medical stuff there. But I don't work for Perimeter so I could be wrong.

Who is the chief pilot at perimeter these days? the website says Mark Killen but I thought it was somebody else. And does perimeter only hire lowtimers for the right seat or will they consider someone with more time ie: a guy from the bush with no IFR or two crew ops. Thanks.

fuel weights

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the weight of car gas and jet fuel is. Curious so I'll know how much 45 gallon drums weigh. And is a 45 gallon drum U.S. gallons or imperial? Thanks.

Just seen the ad for an otter pilot. Seems they were just advertising not too long ago for the same position. Anybody know what's going on there?

Watson's in Wawa

Seen the advertisement in the want ads. Anybody know anything about them? They seem to have been in business a long time - must be doing something right. And what's Wawa like?

A couple of questions. Anybody know what the difference is between ENC and ANR? And where is a good place to buy one of the noise cancelling ones? Any places cheaper than others for the DC's? Thanks.

Any idea what types they are hiring for? What's the pay like? Working conditions? I hear Kenora can be an expensive place to live.
