Re: How Low Will You Go-Part 2

You have to understand that the northern airlines have no interest in expanding into the southern market. They are "northern" airlines built to serve northern residents.

Re: Pilot salary/wages?

That makes more sense KAG. For the topic starter, I think you will find pilots in Canada salaried at 100K plus in the left seat of Boeing's, Bus's, and corporate jets.

None.
So F/O base salary is 100K plus? I think the person who started this thread is asking about salary, not full compensation including company benefits, perdiems, or profit sharing.

Re: CanJet Making Its Mark

According to here: http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/airl ... anjet.html it's a 10 year scale.

It will take 7 years in the left seat at CJ to make what year 1 makes at other Boeing operators.

Re: CanJet Making Its Mark

Just so the record is clear here, The CanJet Capt scale is $85 to $140.... You think that $85K first year is showing respect to a 737 Captain? If you do then count yourself as a part of the problem. A Canjet Captain will max out at close to the same level of pay as a year 2 Captain here and ...

How about Westjet needs more cash to cover losses? After all Westjet will do everything it can to prevent having to announce a loss or layoffs and tarnish is image.

Re: CanJet Making Its Mark

As lousy as the wages are for F/O's, especially first year, in the 705 airline world the Captain pay for Airbus and Boeing drivers is at least respectable in Canada with the exception of Canjet. Air Canada, Westjet, and other Boeing operators pay well over 100K for Captains. Canjet is not even close...

Canjet is the best company I've ever worked for.........I'd be happy to retire with them. This is a place where u r known by name, not a number.........and they treat u very well. Why don't they pay you industry standard wages if they are such a good company? NG Captain's being paid what some turbo...

Re: Cargojet flying on behalf of Amerijet?

CargoJet pilots tell management of the situation no other flight take place. You honestly believe that CJ management had no idea the Amerijet pilots were on strike? CJ management just looked at the $$$ and didn't think of the pilot group that they threw into this shit storm. It should have gone thi...

Re: Cargojet flying on behalf of Amerijet?

For all those who are calling the Cargojet pilots scabs, do you check to see who is on strike before you answer the phone when you are on reserve. This where management is at fault for taking the work knowing full well the shit storm it would create and knowing it would all fall on the backs of the...

Re: Cargojet flying on behalf of Amerijet?

I think the target should be the management of Cargojet for accepting to take the Amerijet work but the pilots should have stood up together and approached management over this issue to let their feelings be known they they don't want to cross the picket lines. Cargojet wouldn't fire all the pilots ...

I find it interesting how you seem to force your believes onto other people and seem to know so much about what they want or why they got into aviation etc..., yet you know so little about how to live life.... you have to remember you are looking at it YOUR way , but your way does not have to be th...

Re: Westjet changes delivery schedule, and adds to order

For me, my priority is lifestyle and I now have it, I’m content. I’ll admit though that the idea of setting the tone of the pairing and not having to be the chameleon is very appealing, but as an FO I can honestly say it’s a great place to work, I consider myself fortunate. As long as you have a sm...

Re: Westjet changes delivery schedule, and adds to order

It's not about the money it's about being in the left seat and getting the most out of why you decided to become a professional pilot. Being in the right seat for years upon years or for the rest of your career would just grate on you after a while and make you start to second guess your career path...

Re: Westjet changes delivery schedule, and adds to order

I like how they call it "enhancements" to make the public think it is a good thing. Reducing from 121 to 108 by 2013 is a pretty big hit to the grand plan.

Unfortunately the term "career F/O" seems to be more realistic at Westjet now. :(

My guess is to generate sympathy to 5T and anger towards WJ and the new northern routes. But whatever you 'proved' my point sort to speak. Without some sort of proof, your example is just heresay and not credible in the least. I think 5T has gone to the media enough to try to get sympathy, they don...

1. WJ does not code share with anyone. So you want us to believe that WJ approached 5T and 'led' them to open their very confidential info. From what I was told, and I have no reason to disbelieve it, an agreement was in the final stages of being worked out when WJ pulled the plug. 2. If they alrea...

Speaking of non-bias facts, care to back up that statement with one iota of proof? Seeing that I'm communicating through a keyboard I can't "prove" it other than you having to believe what I type. I did hear it from the horse's mouth in regards to 5T and from a senior employee at Calm Air. Yes, I a...
