Re: Finding Clearance above a ridge
Thanks for all the help I think I got it now, just another quick question: An Aircraft is loaded to its max certified takeoff weight of 7,450 lbs. It is found that the CG is 2" too far aft of the datum. In an attempt to rectify the situation, it is decided to move some cargo with a mass of 260 lbs f...

Finding Clearance above a ridge
Hi, I am currently working through the Sharper Ege Commercial Pilot exam prep, but I can't seem to figure out this question: Your Altimeter indicates an altitude of 7000 feet, with an altimeter setting of 29.42 (based on a station at sea level) while flying above a ridge which is 5000 AMSL. The outs...

Forward Slip
Hi I am confused about forward slips, my instructor says that you need to turn into the wind (so if the wind is from the 10 o clock position, then it would be left aileron up with right rudder) same inputs as a side slip. But I went up with a different instructor and he said that you need to yaw int...

Run Up Area
Hey,
At a busy controlled field, where is an appropriate place to do your run up?
I trained at an uncontrolled field, and there is always space near the hold short point to do the run up, but at the controlled field I dont want to hold people up.
Thanks

Winter Baffles
Hi, can someone explain to me about winter baffles, I know in the 172 they go in around -5 degrees, but is that ground temp? What if say your destination is warmer, would this have a big affect on the aircraft? Does is have to be installed colder than -5, or would it be ok to put them in when it is ...

Question about 172
Hi, I have a few questions about the 172. When you are doing a run up a 1700 rpm and the mag check gives a large drop in rpm, would you just run it at say 2300 rpm for a few minutes, then try again? If it stops running rough I would assume it would be safe to depart? And during the run up, when you ...

Has anyone read any of these?

Hi,
I am wondering what the typical path is after you aquire a PPL, should you build your hours up then take a night rating, or take the night rating soon after the ppl, then build your hours and eventually take the CPL?

Thanks for the quick reply, it doesn't actually say E700 on the map, just on the legend for the jagged line, but I assume it would be class E then

Hi, I am just studying my VNC, and have a couple questions,
When it says something like B12500 ASL, does that mean it is class B above 12,500 ASL, and below would be class G?
Does anyone know of a website where they give good information on VNC charts, like sample questions?
Thanks
