Focus your energy on flying... your gap year has zero relevance.

Re: Porter Airlines E195 ground school 2023
it is assumed that if you get hired for a base (yyz in this case), you show up on your own dime. Anyone who wanted to be at a porter "outstation" took this risk. If youre prepared to wait for a YUL E2 base then porter will pay for hotel coats! One seniority list. If you get hired as an E2 FO with se...

Re: Is MFC suitable for foreign students? And other questions...
Ive met and worked with a few ex military Koreans at MFC. Aviation companies dont require a university degree, or care about your grades. What it does show is your studious and can draw on other experiences. Therefore, do an Integated ICPC course at MFC. When I lived in Moncton it was affordable. Th...

So...
Border with the US is closed.
You fly east and then have to quarantine for 14 days.
All govt travel is cancelled in Ont.
Why would they be flying?

Re: Skylink Planes
I dont know about you Skittles, but theres no bigger rush than shooting an NDB to minimums and it working out... this whole career is about pushing your limits, learn from it and become a better pilot for it. 5 years ago a gps equipped 152 to a non gps turbine was typical for career progression. Don...

Re: Headset suggestion for Aviation College?
You can never regain your hearing.
Buy the best headset with noise cancelling you can afford. I'm in my late 30s and am aware that I'm losing my hearing.
Does Sault have a program with Bose for repairs etc?
I had a Litespeed and sent it for repair 3 times free of charge.

Re: Take home
Unfortunately you're subject to the seniority gods.
As of today....were fully rostered.
So not much opportunity for OT.
Per diem depending on schedule could be 300 to 1000 a month.
Apply for DEC anyway. Ya never know

Re: Take home
1st year FO 43.5k
2nd 47.5k
3rd 55k
That's base salary.
You can opt out of benefits. You can opt out if RRSP match.
3$/hr perdiem away from base.
So... whatever Ont. Taxes are... there's your take home
Does that help?

Re: Pearson cancellations
You will find out in your career that delays in the airline world is generally not because of us pilots... were very efficient. If you think about an airport environment you have to plow runways. Taxiways. Aprons. Ramps. If a plane is on a planned 45min turn, everything has to be perfectly planned t...
