Re: PC12 training?
Simcom and FlightSafety have sims that we send our PC12 pilots too. The PIC is required to have a certificate from a sim centre for initial training. Annual recurrent training can be done in sim+aircraft or just aircraft depending on how your com is approved.

Re: PC12 Pay
Do any Canadian operators other than RCMP fly them single pilot? Technically yes. Some operators do PCC for FOs and if they don't have any available they will send captain by himself. They should have it in their AOC and if it's multi crew they will develop SOP. TC gave a ruling a few years back th...

Re: "Big men" in aviation
Toxic Masculinity and Drama….some pilots seem to live for both. Not at all uncommon in any “Type A” filled jobs. Ever work on a construction site? You’d think you were in scenes of real housewives.

Re: To return to the skies or wait a while longer…
If I’m not mistaken, you dipped your toe in the water in another aspect of aviation several years back (atc) and it didn’t go well. I would surmise from that and your current predicament, that you are a pilot, you are meant to be a pilot and anything less will end in disappointment. We all did what ...

Re: Westjet Caves on refunds.
I see it slightly different. WJ and AC et al held onto the money because in this industry, it’s all cash flow. Cash is king, it’s what keeps the lights on. There is some light at the end of the long long tunnel we just went through. There was zero indication in the past year until the last few weeks...

Re: Vaccine outside of Canada
Obviously you all aren’t in Waterloo region. Sent my info in twice, both times said it was processed but my record still showed the covid vaccine outstanding. Called and emailed them and they very impolitely told me it “wasn’t their problem to figure out”

Re: Job Application Tips
Here’s a couple important points for me, make sure your information is clear, concise and easy to read at a glance. I should be able to determine your qualifications within 20-30secs of opening the resume. We get way too many resumes to sift through the fluff. For example, I know what the responsibi...

Re: Lesson Learned, Unionize!!!
I’m not sure I follow the logic. There is most definitely more unionized pilots out of work right now than non-unionized. So, how would a union save me?

Didn’t seem to me that they were overly interested in pursuing it. Sounds like a terrible idea anyways.

Well the obvious answer is to fly it and make money with it. Getting into the jet world adds a new dimension to their operation.

Re: Gate checking carry on in Canada
I'll agree I tend to not see it out of YYZ YWG YVR. I always assume cause their at the jet bridge and the ground crew doesn't want to carry them down one at a time. Isn't that what that slidey-ramp beside the stairs from the jet bridge is for? Have you seen how carefully the ramp agents “slidey” th...

RCMP surveillance....do they have any thermal imaging? Rumour ‘round the campfire is they initially thought they were dealing with a large scale grow op.
