I am amazed that thing got in the air at all with the heals dug in like that. I've never seen or even heard of anybody doing something like that. I would hope that TC/RCMP would match purchases with licences, not that anyone can't own an aircraft without a licence, but should be a flag to watch them. That crash has got to be an exception. Usually these people are only a danger to themselves. License or not, I would wonder what would cause a guy to fly his 170 into a helicopter? That's just perpetuating the system we have now. I'm not of the opinion that making everyone do medial tasks is the best way to pick the best and brightest. There are better ways to weed people out. Maybe a spelling and or grammar test would weed out afew of the wankers. I think menial was the word...
