Re: Well, well... Watch these two pros!

When he says “landing gear”, the other pilot responds “down”...which suggests to me that is the landing checklist, the gear is already down..

But yeah, those fireworks do seem a bit close....

Re: Is it really Prist

Do any tri-hole Falcons require Prist? The Dassault AFM for the 50 & 900 list approved anti-icing additives and their maximum concentrations ....otherwise provides no guidance for its use. But I was told in groundschool that fuel anti-icing is not necessary due to design of the fuel delivery system...

Re: DHC6 autofeather

Both companies I flew for that operated DHC6 (First Air and Borek), AFX was armed for takeoff and approach/landing.
Reason for arming during the approach was, as stated previously, to allow autofeathering in the event of an engine failure in a go-around.

Doug Mcleod. The most interesting Twin Otter driver there ever was. In all those years of offstrip work, he never damaged an aircraft, just the sanity of some of his first officers.

Referencing their ad for BE20 skippers up at the moment, where do they operate? Ad mentions it's rotational, what's the on/off schedule? Bear in mind I haven't worked there in over a year....but change is something that happens at a glacial pace at KBA... The only Kingair base was (is?) CYEV. I am ...

Cape Perry should not be required if they are putting in a unit in Holman. Other than the odd weather report, we mostly used Cape Perry to get a descent clearance out of the flight levels into YHI.

There are plenty of rotational 703/704 gigs out there that will let you live in Toronto. Borek is the one that immediately springs to mind and as the "shortage" deepens, more companies will start to offer rotations. As others have alluded to, these companies are down to the short and curlies for hir...

We use Fltplan.com. At a prior company, I used to use the Nav Canada online filing system way back in 2005ish (when dinosaurs roamed the Earth...) never had any issues with Fltplan. Have filed online and gotten the clearance in less than 5 minutes. We do lots of trans-border work and their eAPIS pro...
