I would like to start on wheels and then if all goes good I plan to add a float kit and floats. To me it seems like a 182 on floats is a more useful float plane than a 172 on floats....

I am wondering when the taxes are paid on a private aircraft sale? With the new HST coming in Ontario, if I have a bill of sale dated before July 1st but the registration transfer goes through after July 1st, would I pay the HST?

Does anyone know the weight difference between CAP2000 and PK2300 when installed on a 172?

Thanks for your feedback I will ask to check for corrosion before closing the deal. Just wondering if the value would be less because of the years between overhaul. I am just worried that when I goto sell the plane and it is not at the TBO but 25years since overhaul will I take a loss?

I am looking at purchasing a plane with low engine hours but the last overhaul was done in 1990. According to Lycoming if TBO has not been reached in 12 years it should be overhauled even if the hours are not up. I am wondering if this applies, should it reduce the price since an overhaul should be ...

This is a copy of what I found on Murphy's website,

"According to regulations, certified aircraft are allowed
an additional 5% of the stated gross weight when
operating on floats."

I know Cessna usually reduce the gross weight when on floats.

I remember hearing about a regulation in Canada about a 5% increase in gross weight while operating on floats, I am looking into the regulations but cannot find it. Does anyone have reference to it? Or is it just BS?
