Keep doing that evolution Hedley, and keep us informed. Eventually you'll get all of avcanada to admire you, admire you possessions, admire your son and so on. By the way, what car do you drive? On the topic though, the following would sure be a benefit: ‣ No electromagnetic interference. ‣ H...

Re: Float Rating
and on something useful like a Cub or a C-180 I'm currently looking into a float rating myself. The rates are somewhat confusing. One particular outfit is charging $475/h for a 185 (dual), compared to $265/h for the 172. :smt017 Is the difference justified for this glorified 172? Is it that crucial...

Don't tell your kids to 'retaliate' against bullies. After all, shouldn't school prepare them for the real world? When those bullies grow up, they'll have a gun and a badge.
Oh, and maybe a taser.

Re: Deterioration of basic skills
I think most people would agree that flight test standards should be raised (particularly for the CPL). Not only would it insure a higher level of proficiency for those that make the pass, but it would also lower the number of new pilots. And we all complain about flight schools "pumping" them out, ...

Interesting perspective tired of the ground . Although older pilots generally have more experience, how much experience is required to account for increased reaction time? Where does it overlap? These pilots may easily pass certain check flights consisting of general exercises (exercises which they ...

Whats wrong with including the runway# with the landing clearance readback? Thin edge of the wedge, my friend. 0.5 seconds 300 times a day adds up. When dealing with radio comms, believe me, sometimes less is more. Maybe Lil can add in here. Hmmm an extra 2min 30 sec for the whole day. WOW staggeri...

Re: Pet peeves / lack of airmanship
Whats wrong with including the runway# with the landing clearance readback? As far as frequency congestion goes, it will hardly add an extra 0.5s. Considering the implications of the clearance I believe its well worth it. I like doing it, but I wouldn't say its a pet peeve (definitely not a lack of ...
