Re: Beaver Engine forward/baron stol kit performance issues
I am wondering if the wing angle mod, stol kit, gross weight increase, etc were flight tested and approved with the engine forward mod. I found out doing research for a few stc's I was doing to a Cessna that most of them were stand alone stc approvals.

Re: Bush flying training.
About time there is a new place to get a float endorsement/ or additional training. the Airhart gig has gone downhill in the last while. I do not believe float flying should be taught by a low time float pilot. What can he teach and pass along. While everyone is stuck on the 50 hrs of float time, I ...

Re: Dock vs. Ramp First Job
I think you should try the course that cat is talking about. The last pilot I hired from Air Hart was taught by another low time float pilot with no operational expirence. Never got to fly the plane at gross weight, etc. I for one don't care if you have 50 hrs on floats from a puppy mill , I still n...

The Manitoba government needs to follow Alberta as well. If S. Ashton becomes our new premier I am afraid we will see them acquire more aircraft..

Re: External loads on private float plane.
Never counted the sheets, all depended if they were 3/4' 1/2 etc. I was flying a 185 and would haul 8" of plywood. I would count it back to 6" on the 180 and your first trip. If you like how it flies add a few more.

Re: External loads on private float plane.
I hauled 8" of stacked plywood on the spreader bars often. Alllways screwed the plywood together, tied two ropes from front to back spreader bar, and two ropes from side to side. Never had a problem.

Don't need a fuel totalizer, good fuel gauges, a dipstick, know your plane and fuel burn. All I ever used cross country for the last 28 years.
