I hate to be the one to correct you, but there is no reason you can not use the tip tanks during take off and landing. The tip tank pumps provide a higher pressure then the fuselage pumps. You do not select the fuselage pumps off when running off the tip tanks. Therefore the fuselage pumps are the b...

Hello: I have actually done that route a few times now. Your best bet is to go from North Bend (KOTH) or Santa Maria CA (KSMX) Both places are quite familiar with ferry pilots that go through there.
