Re: Pacific Coastal
If you wanna fly any airplane with broken prop heat into an awful winter storm, have at it! I'll be in the crew room waiting for maintenance to return the plane to an appropriate level of airworthiness for the anticipated icing conditions. You must be one of those toxic managers that nobody wants t...

Re: Pacific Coastal
Lots of scummy 703s couldn't pay enough to keep people at their toxic operation. 200 grand to get yelled at by the chief pilot because one won't fly a bagged out king air with broken prop heat into an awful winter storm. I'm good thanks. Disclaimer: no idea about PASCO. There's just a lot more to t...

Re: Pacific Coastal
But I’d suspect that Pasco can’t afford to pay their Saab/1900 pilots 200/yr - there’s just not enough money in their system. And, under the current hiring environment, people would still leave to go to AC/WJ because the lifetime potential is so much greater. Nobody can afford it, until they have t...

IFR study materials
Hi I would like to start studying for my instrument rating but I cannot decide between using the Pultz book or taking an online IFR ground school through pilottraining.ca can anyone recommend one?
Thanks
Thanks

Instrument Rating
Hi,
I am interested in getting my MIFR rating, but I was wondering if I need the 50 hours XC PIC before I can begin training, or can I start before I have the 50 hours?
Thanks

Aviation Medical Blood work question
Hi,
I know when you give blood donations you should wait at least 48 hours until you fly, but when you do the blood work for an aviation medical is it also 48 hours?
Thanks for the help

Thanks for the info, just wondering with fixed pumps whats the procedure, do I just pull right next to it if no one else is around, and someone fuels it up? And when I am finished how far should I push the aircraft away before starting?

Hi, I am flying to a larger airport for the first time(Saskatoon), and planning to refuel at an Esso or shell, but I am curious why they have a unicom frequency, and what the procedure is for this? And should I just pull up beside the fuel truck, or how do I know where to park the aircraft? I apprec...

Re: Weather decision
Thanks for the comments, I just have a couple questions about icing on the GFA. For example if it says moderate icing between say surface and 8000, would that be reason enough to cancel a flight? Or what if it was something like between 5000 and 8000, and you were going to fly at 4500, I'm assuming ...

Re: Weather decision
Thanks for all the reply's, I forget what it was calling for after 14z, but I think I was more worried about the freezing part. Doesnt freezingfog contain supercooled droplets, so if they strike the wing, depending on the temp of the a/c skin, will freeze and cause icing? I guess that was what I was...

Weather decision
I have been taking my training throughout the summer, and not the fall, and I decided today to cancel my flight at 1500 because the GFA was calling for "LCL 1/2sm FZFG VC DG till 16Z", and I notice that the temperature and dewpoint were M02/M04, so I guess I am asking if I made the right choice just...

Oil in 172
Hi, I am currently working on my ppl, and I am wondering what the difference is between 15W50 and 20W50 oil, and if it matters which one you use? The 172 that I am currently training on says to add oil when the dipstick reads between the 4 and the 5, so say if the oil is at the 5, and I have a cross...

Application for Aviation Document
Hi, I am in the process of filling out the application for an aviation document, and it requires me to send in a passport style picture, but I am wondering if I can get it certified by a parent, because it requires a signature on the back?
Thanks
Thanks
