OK Pygmie and Jerricho. I think I understand what you are getting at now. What you are saying is that when approach clearance is issued, if it is not stated, any restrictions in place are cancelled. If said restrictions were requested by the tower controller you would re-state them with the approach...

These altitude restrictions you are talking about are specified in local agreements and alike. If you are cleared for a visual approach by a terminal controller, YOU ARE NOT required to adhere to a previously issued altitude unless it it specified again. Do you agree Jerricho that if the restrictio...
if the terminal controller DOES NOT issue the restrictions for whatever reason, all previous altitude and speed restrictions are cancelled.quote] Well perhaps you should go back and read the original question. I will save you some time; here it is: On approach, When given a speed or ...

-2 driver, I think you are misunderstanding the question. Yes, you are correct, the terminal controller must keep IFR aircraft at 4,000 or above until within the Final Descent Area without prior coordination as per the arrangement with QR tower. The question was, if the terminal controller clears a...

Re: Relief of restrictions.

1-On approach, When given a speed or altitude restriction are they both cancelled with the approach clearance? 2- Just to confirm that landing clearance cancells all restrictions. -Tks in advance 1. No. Speaking from how things are done in YQR, the terminal controller requires the approval of the t...

Re: $55

Okay, Controllers, I need a "feel good answer," we pay $55/yr for our "medicals/AIP/renewals/whatever excuse" TC can come up with.... Do you controllers get the same fee? And let me guess NavCan pays for it anyways? Controllers are not charged the "charge for processing of medical certificate". Nav...
That is exactly right. The flight time logged is just a part of the time that a pilot works. Pre and post flight duties would likely add at least another 50 - 100...

Don't they teach circuit joining procedures at flight schools any more?? Try reading your AIM. Check out RAC 4.5.2 (vi) for procedures where there is and advisory service. If there is no advisory service RAC 4.5.2 (vii) applies. Seems quite straight forward to me!

Re: Courtesy Air

Excellent equipment, fair pay; pilot's are expected to perform some non-flying duties but this is typical in a smaller operation. You will have a hard time finding a nicer guy to work for; just be prepared to put in an honest day's work for your day's pay. Voyage Air earns my vote! Hmmm, I've heard...

What I do believe sometimes happens is ATC tries to accomodate the first call, many times to the so called detriment of others. I find that often going into Regina in the morning where the Red Team want to depart RWY 31 and we want to land 13. They to depart the direction they are going and we to l...

Courtesy Air

Courtesy air doesn't operate float planes commercially. The float side was sold off and is now owned by voyage air. When did that happen?? Voyage Air bought Courtesy Air's float division in the spring of 2002. They have since put a turbine in the Otter. Excellent equipment, fair pay; pilot's are ex...
