Re: Well, well... Watch these two pros!
Wow! Single pilot IFR in the Bush! Incredible. I remember doing that a decade ago too. If you read my post again, I simply stated that as a pilot for many airlines around the world, if you are fully configured by 1500 feet, you are not following SOP’s. It is too early. I’m happy for you your compan...

Re: Well, well... Watch these two pros!
Certainly unprofessional for the FO to be filming. Also, maybe the other camera was a jumpseater? (I hope). As for stable at 1500 feet? You will be on the shit list at many airlines around the world if you are dropping the gear before 1500 feet. Just because your airline says it’s too dangerous for...

Re: Well, well... Watch these two pros!
I haven’t said that stabilized criteria are depicted in time but they sure are based on time. If it were only based on altitude, without regards for airspeed, density altitude and glide slope, it would be meaningless. Perhaps yours is 1,000 ft AGL but I can guarantee you that someone, somewhere dec...

Re: Well, well... Watch these two pros!
Did it occur to you that they may be arriving over higher terrain and approaching downhill? So, a 1000 foot call by a RAD ALT might not be 1000 feet above the touch down zone elevation? Your stabilized approach criteria are not the rest of the worlds stabilized approach criteria. I suggest you see ...

Re: Well, well... Watch these two pros!
Plenty of time? Based on what? Stabilization criteria is not based on time, but height. For us, by 1,500 fully configured. 1,000 fully stable. By 500, speed stable (if given a speed by ATC). I don’t know how they operate, but I’ll check, as we have many pilots from their airline now working with us...

Doc, you're being attacked, and so is your history (which is no one's bi'niss), for the sake of hiding the truth about this accident. As el comat said, we don't have real answers why the dude behind him ran into him. I flew dashs, and I recall them having FDRs and CVRs (correct me if I'm mistaken el...

Keep it real, keep friendly, and don't sleep with all the F/As. Enjoy the ride, cos once you're at the top of your game, you will only go downhill from there. Pictures are great, but videos are better* :D *have the video or camera set up on a suction cup or tripod, so you're always concentrating on ...

India has a population of nearly 1b. Put an add in some papers for a week, then have a telephone line that they can call you, forward that to your southern manitoba office. Go there yourself, hire a translator for a few days (even though majority of kids there speak hinglish). Have an Q&A day/si...

Re: GTA Area - wanna fly me to Harrisburg on Friday?
I should have qualified that: There are no reasonably-priced direct flights from Toronto. With taxes etc, the cheapest AC tickets add up to $1,760.52 Spending $1,760.52 for 2 tickets in a B1900 for a 90 minute flight seems a little insane, hence my post. I appreciate your efforts toward reducing AC...

Re: GTA Area - wanna fly me to Harrisburg on Friday?
Me = One of two lazy, spoiled corporate pilots who doesn't want to drive the 7 1/2 hours to Harrisburg or sit on a commercial plane for the 8 hours it'd take us to get there (no direct flights from Toronto). From: Toronto, Pearson Int'l, ON (YYZ) To: Harrisburg, Harrisburg Int'l, PA (MDT) 1 AC7388 ...

Hey a quick question, why's the lady on the left wearing handcuffs? . . . . . Ah, it's cos she's Kate Austen, from the t.v. series Lost. Origin of the hoax The hoax originated in an October 26, 20, by Brazilian blogger Carlos Cardoso. In a later posting he admitted to perpetrating the hoax and maint...

Yep, you are right, I misspelled they're. I would however disagree with you on one thing. I would argue that our society is very much based on stealing other peoples land and resources. 265,000 new immigrants to Canada in 2008. Yep, we steal lots. lol You really want to compare Europeans crossing t...

So let me get this straight... Canadian soldiers are only pawns who do as their told....very unfortunate. Israeli soldiers are just out to oppress other people? LOL so that's what you understood?
