For Sale Canada Goose Snow Mantra Parka $400
For Sale Canada Goose Snow Mantra Parka Lightly used for 2 winters. Never fuelled in. Worn from the house to the car and from the car to the plane. Always carried it in the plane in the winter northern latitudes just in case. I love this parka but I don't need it any more. $400 I'm in Victoria, if y...

Re: Multi grade oil or W-100 oil in the Beaver
This is a polarizing topic. We've also run several engines to tbo with the multi grade and had positive results as mentioned above. I don't like the warm up characteristics of of the 100 in the summer or the winter.
I think the 100 is oldschool, modern multiweight oils are great.

Wow, thanks for posting these. Its a shame that most of this stuff was thrown away when it became out of date. I love old aviation books and the like. Any chance you would be willing to scan and post the approach and airport diagram for Vancouver? it would mean alot. I would offer the buy the book b...

What Parka?
Hey there team, I'm about to get a new Parka (for the Arctic) What are you folks wearing? Or wish you were wearing? Brands, models. I was thinking Canada Goose, but I don't know if there is a better option? Of the two that I have had one sucked and the other I like but it's not warm enough. Thanks, C.

Re: Faro headsets - anyone tried them?
Don't buy some junk headset, you will not be happy with it! If you don't believe all of us, wait to buy one until you've done a few hours of training. It's likely that the flying school has shitty headsets like ASA, Avcom or old DC's, Try them out, you will soon see that they suck. If an instructor ...

Re: Using Beaver Tip Tanks
Make sure the tip tank selector is off when you are filling them. Did that once. Also I think the machine fly's kinda crappy with them full, mostly in turns. Like the other folks said, If no one can remember when they were used last check to see that they are clean and dry and serviceable. I'm sorry...

Hey "BigglesNBella" sounds like someone is bitter about not getting a flying scholarship.
Another former member here, 6 years with 744 squadron. There's a lot of us that got our start in this industry from the Cadet program. Its not for everyone but It changed my life in a positive way.

Try going for a flight in a glider.
I also like to continuously pick the best forced landing site for each given phase of flight and then pick a new one once out of gliding distance of the first one.
Remember the Space Shuttle is just a glider.

Anyone been though YQQ? if I recall correctly (and it's been awhile) the landing clearance there sounds something like "ABC you're cleared to land runway 30 both cables removed check gear down." To this the controller is expecting you to acknowledge your landing clearance and include "Gear down" I h...
