Conservative governments don't like taking opportunities away from corporate businesses.
Also, research where the former conservative premier of Manitoba from 1988-1999 is now. Coincidence?

Re: Wasaya caravan missing
I understand that the caravan was not certified for flight into known icing and we keep mentioning that. I am curious how do you file a VFR flight plan at 5500 feet when to me it looks like a strictly IFR day? No filing necessary if you are on a flight itinerary and in uncontrolled airspace. Nobody...

Re: Wasaya caravan missing
From section 1.6.4 from the Report "Icing Certification", the only systems that the crashed aircraft lacked was the cargo pod nose-cap, main landing‑gear leg de‑icing boots, and the a low-airspeed awareness system (somehow different than the stall warning?). How much difference would these systems ...

Re: Wasaya caravan missing
I by no means am sticking up for Wasaya but I really feel that it wasn't just a company norm, it was a industry norm at the time (and still might be, I haven't been up there in a few years). Are you telling me that North star's caravans and superiors aren't flying if there is foretasted icing in th...

Re: Wasaya caravan missing
I agree that it took too long for the report to come out. At least this message came out before the new icing season! What I found deplorable though is that Wasaya was dispatching Caravans in that kind of weather in the first place!!! With experience levels the way they are, companies need to provid...

Re: AC7168 today
Anyone know what are the tax rules regarding this and who benefits? Buyer or seller or both? I know that if I buy a private aircraft, I will have to pay taxes prior to registering. If I build a home built aircraft, I have to prove I paid taxes on all my parts. Is there a benefit if I'm buying a priv...

It's an exemption from paragraph 401.05(1)(a).
I've seen it printed but cannot find it on TC's amazing website to share!

The Metro II and Metro III are certified single pilot aircraft, therefore no IATRA required for right seat at PerimeterPositiveRate27 wrote:Yes, you need 250hrs to write the IATRA and you need the iatra to fly right seat in a multi crew aircraft

Re: CAR 703 No More Standard Weights Effective End of July
What are operators using aircraft that are certified for more than 11 seats but are operating 703 (9 passenger seat configuration) doing? The segmentated weights are not to be applied for aircraft certified with more than 11 seats (as the circular said) and 703 operations are no longer allowed to us...

New landing system at Brandon airport needed?

Re: PAG loses grandfather clause for 704 ops
If this happens (or after 2010), the Metro III's remain unchanged as they already comply with accelerate and stop distances. The Metro II's seats will just be reduced to 9 and they will operate as 703. Northbound legs will still be full (top off with cargo) and they can still make money with them. ...
