Re: Voyageur airways (domestic) ?
I think these links are for pilots and not the forgotten AME. I don't have first hand info on the North Bay ops but if it is a as usual AMO which O/H 3 rd party or company a/c then its the same as everywhere.

Re: Looking to get in touch with someone at Summit that maintains their Twin Otter
Would this be a technical question for Summits maintenance program on their -6 or a could maybe some of the hundreds of AME's with -6 experience from dozens of other operators try to help you out?

Re: Water in fuel-good catch by SW personnel
Not sure about Jamaica but in other less developed places (some African countries) aviation fuel is heavily guarded as it is used for cooking etc. Back in the day it was not uncommon to find the fuel replaced with water. In the bowzer and in the aircraft.

Must me a short version of the story. If water is in fuel it can't be drained out with the sumps as it would take hours to settle out.

Re: KF Aerospace contractor deal!
Send your CV to the contract agency, they will forward it to KF and decide if they want you. Right out of school, $43 per hr, um, probably not. The agency may not even send it to KF.

I'm curious as to your Nationality? I hear about International students doing their training in Canada and then some looking for jobs locally with no or limited success
I have also heard of students with a sponsor doing the schooling in Canada then going home to a guaranteed job.

Re: Best school for AME?
Call me old school but when I hire an AppiI look at his/ her hands, the school doesn't matter all that much so BCIT is fine. Are you mechanical ? Did you grow up fixing the lawn mower, bicycle, etc? Or is the Engineering program appealing for other reasons? This is fine but be prepared to do 3/4 yea...

Re: Choices for maintenance
First some clarification on Jet and helicopters. The jet is an engine type, you can have piston or jet fixed wing aircraft and piston or jet helicopters. And yes you can work on both.
I'd suggest you read and do MORE research before committing to go to BCIT.

Its right on the oceans mild climate, rain and damp but nice summers. Once you get over the being on an island mentality and don't have to drive off 3 times a year its ok

The question was '''time on ramp''' I gave a run down on the reason there is a turnover and quick succession to a flying seat. You didn't figure that out?

Re: North Wright Airways
"The Wells" is expensive, very expensive for groceries etc. And isolated, very isolated. Not the place a lot of people call home permanently. How many young pilots from the city or wherever with aspirations of a career will stay after gaining the hours or experience?? You figure it out.

I know lots of M licensed guys who have it. Find an approved school in the USA, go there, pay their fee and in 2 days you have the licence, that or get a box of cracker jacks. the cracker jacks is a joke referring how easy it is to get.

Pie, you're obviously an economics professor at some university who cruises these pilot forums for something to do. From the sounds of it you're quoting from one of your published papers. where can we read the whole paper?
