Re: Seniority System ...
See that's just it. You think I want something I have not earned. All I or (we) want is the ability to move up through the ranks like everyone before us. NW you might be totally right here and I might be out to lunch. But I just don't get why you would want to change the game at the end. Please tell...

Re: Seniority System ...
Never saw that coming. I forgot how some of you feel you provided this career for us. For the record I got here myself, did everything myself, qualified myself and most of all earned it myself. That shitty attitude that you have that makes you feel like you are doing the rest if of such a service is...

Re: Seniority System ...
Older, wiser more experienced at the helm. Oh yeah and seems some can only look as far as themselves. 60 was the deal all along funny how hard it is to walk away from that kind of compensation and schedule. For the record I got no problem with working past 60. Just don't screw the generations behind...

Re: Jet engine run-up
FADEC deals with run ups on a modern engine. The only time you might see what seems like a run up is during icing conditions. My airplanes AOM calls for ice sheading after 30 min of taxi. Long story short we will ask to stay in position for 30 sec or for a place to go to apply power. We bring the en...

Re: NT Air King Air Accident - Pilot Discussion Thread
I have a lot of 100 time... the oil cap being loose or undone is a very dangerous issue. In the event of loss of oil pressure a PT6 has been clocked by beech to stay "onspeed" or un-feathered for up to 90 min. At the 90 min point the test was ended. Should the aircraft slow down it should start to f...

Re: Do Twin Otters Have Autofeather?
The otters auto feather system is just for T/O. STOL ops require it for the climb below VMC. The system has been changed over the years due to issues with it feathering both engines. The system in it's latest form works a lot like the BE20. That is to say when one side drops below a given value the ...

You guys have to be kidding me... This is the worst show in the history of TV. Am I the only one who thinks it makes pilots look stupid? The public watches shows like this and thinks this is real.

Re: Impact of YYC no longer accepting general aviation
Calgary is a Joke! FLOW is a bigger joke.... all I hear is "we need a new runway and we don't want tax cuts to kill it". I talked to a sector manager about a week ago and I was told to expect it to get worse. How could that be? I get that it can be busy but my god how could it get this bad so fast. ...

My last year as an FO I got over 1000h and made $40000! This is by far the best place I have ever worked. Don't be such a fag. I now make much much more than that and work less than 600hours a year. This place make people into good pilots. That fact has been shown time and time again when you look a...

Hate to say it the Snowbirds just are not that good. I would love to see a non-airfarce pilot get some formation training. I would put my time and exp up to any (modern day) Air Force pilot. Yes I know that some of you will think thats crazy but its just the truth. How good can you be with 300hours ...

I am sure JC or Ettw would be happy to take one north and break it and show the nice people at Sky Truck just how strong their landing gear is. And look at the "facts" they have on their site. Find me a Borek otter pilot that needs that much space to get off the ground! Hell thats almost worth a tri...

Ha for the record JetA1 is right Air Baffin has by far the worst 26.7 calls in aviation history. Also I should note that people that say "at this time" drive me crazy! Why would you make a traffic report for ten min in the future? "Traffic in the Baffin Island area this is air baffin 2billion a supe...

Sounds like the flyer is some no nothing instructor who got lucky. For the record I was quite on topic MR can't pay anything to what Borek is paying their guys. And check around, Borek has a habit of running people into the ground (or close to it) that mess around in areas that they should not be in...

Yeah well the point is MR is not going to be able to pay anything close to what Borek does. Further he has a habit of being a bullspiter! There are a few guys at Borek now that were at Enterprise version 1 and the fact is that MR was too busy having parties and buys stupid toys to play with in his w...
