Re: Applying for Air Traffic Service
My advice would be this... if you get an offer, do whatever you have to do so you can be on that course. Borrow, beg, sell your car, whatever. End result, it's a year sooner to a proper salary over whatever you make now, and that's not counting pensionable time either. You never know if an opportuni...

Re: New Games?
Coreydotcom,
I tried that one, pretty fun. I also like this new one.

I ended up buying it! The mazes were kind of easy but the different sectors were challenging but you can select how busy you want it to be.

That's hilarious! Now you just have to convince her that it's her great idea to upgrade the computer!

I didn't realize it was voice activated. That is a very interesting concept and something that reliable could have commercial uses also.
I'll look at it again.

Re: New Games?
Highflyinpilot, Thanks for the link. I think that's a Wilco product - I remember using one of there 767 sims years ago. Great product. Looks like they have a tower sim only right now. Graphics look pretty good but navigating through the site looks complex??? Also it's about 2-3 times as expensive as...

Re: New Games?
I know Microsoft has released a few screenshots but its hardly anything new. X-plane keeps updating but I was hoping to find something new, apart from ad-ons.
PMDG has some add-on a/c for flightsim, and apparently they were working on a tower simulator, which would be cool, but nothing yet!

New Games?
Anyone know if flightsim will ever make another game, or any other flying games (apart from x-plane, i've already got that)
Also, any good ATC games out there?

Re: New Recruiting site
I imagine their response would be something like... " I'm sorry Mr/Miss Applicant, but we don't feel you have the necessary attributes required to be an Air Traffic Controller. Instead we've chosen someone with strong typing skills and no personality to train for two years before we kick their ass o...

Re: Airport Madness
That old game Airbus A320 was made by Thalion in 1991. Very old by today's standards but it's available if you search. Not sure if it would work on a MAC though. I remember that game and TRACON - both seemed amazing at the time!

Flash the pass and Burger King will slide in an extra paddy! Wear it in Richmond and I swear that jack up the price because they know you're employed!

Re: Embraer reveals vision for single-pilot airliners
They can go ahead and make a single pilot airliner if they like. I don't think the airlines will like the single passenger part thought - because that's all they'll get for a LONG time.

This one is my favorite so far:
Controller: ABC radar service is terminated, cleared enroute
Pilot: ABC thanks, have a good day
Contoller: Sorry, I’ve got other plans!
I found it here:

Re: Short staff in YVR this afternoon.
It's funny to hear complaints about delays at this time of year. If you think it's bad now, just wait until summer! Unfortunately your complaints here fall on deaf ears, and complaining to the ATC doesn't accomplish anything more either. NAVCANADA will only listen when complaints reach the head offi...

Re: Ultralight Over YVR
If ATC can see you on radar, they will have your code and your callsign GABC will be all done up properly too. This is assuming you have been given a code from a tower or called YVRcode to get one. I wouldn't bother saying the code, not that it matters but it just isn't necessary. As far as XX to CA...

Re: Ultralight Over YVR
RFlyer, Glad to hear you got to do the route again. If you have the required radio, a transponder and a map (meaning you know how to fly the Oak Bridge Transit) there should be no reason you can't fly over YVR on the route. You are a customer, maybe a little smaller than the big blue planes with the...
