Re: AME job alternatives..?

As a Canadian AME for 27 years, with 4000 hrs. airtime, worldwide, I could not imagine a better skill set to assist you through life. It gets a bit rough some days, but so does walking 50 miles. Remote camp work in Canada, pays as much as a Canadian AME. So, you can fix the aircraft on site, and als...

Just for reference, though.

If you take an interest in any heavy aircraft type, find hands on work, under experienced folks, you should be good to go, within 6 months, on type.

C-80 generator field dlashing, 1953

I must be rusty, but can I flash the field of this a/c. Grounds are good, but discovered, main gen to engine ground, disconnected. Might have blown the volt regulator. Also, it should be possible, to make both the 1953 C-180 and the sister ship, 1958 C-180, have similar electrical charging systems. ...

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers at large, If you call Kenn Borek in CYYC, the folks have engineer/pilot types going through to southern climbs. Give them a call at 1-403-291-3300, Canada. Another Canadian northern, would be Athabasca Airways/La Ronge Aviation, AKA, Transwestair. Same type of country,...

Adlair once dropped us off in Minto Inlet, Nu. to rescue an Skyvan, with a Twin Otter on skies running. Once we were settled in, as soon as the crew punched it, they went straight up.
It does get a bit breezey some sdays, but your still having fun flying.
Be well, have fun.
