MLAs...fly or drive?
After the unfortunate death this week of MLA Manmeet Bhullar, the local news was interviewing some other MLAs about how much they are now travelling by road. It would appear that many are doing a ton of driving now that there are no aircraft to use...one had driven over 2700 kilometers in the last m...

Re: Alberta Gov't Air Service
So either Ft Chip should have cost $5424.00 or Toronto should have been $48458.00.
Interesting math.

Re: Alberta Gov't Air Service
It is hard to imagine that a bunch of politicians know much about the Private Operator program. Transport Canada is so short on manpower that the Wildrose Party will probably be in power before this gets looked into.

Westjet/Air Canada merger on the horizon?
This quote is from the Globe and Mail a few weeks ago . "One of ACE Aviation Holding Inc.'s options for unwinding itself as a holding company could be finding a buyer for Air Canada, says RBC Dominion Securities Inc. analyst Nick Morton. ''One logical, if controversial, outcome could be a merger of ...

As a Canadian the fingerprinting process can be a pain in the butt. The only authorized fingerprint collector in Canada as of this last April was in at Dorval. The other option is to cross the border to a US Sheriffs station to get them done there. Depending on your status it can take as long as 30 da...

Turns after takeoff.
Just looking for clarification on a topic that seems to cause confusion for some people. If you are departing an airport where there are noise abatement procedures in effect ( CYYC rwy 16-- no right turns below 4300) and tower asks you for a right turn after takeoff before switching to departure do ...

Far be it from me to stir the pot, but you ramp biatches up there in Fort Mac are being grossly under paid. Another fuelling outfit in Edmonton is paying $14.50 to start and you don't even need to be a pilot. I'm sure the $11.50 you poor bastards start at goes a real long way in an overpriced shitho...

I heard from a reliable source that a charter operator from CYXD had a mishap with a Navajo on a forestry strip near Valleyview yesterday. The news has been quiet on this subject--can anyone confirm or deny.

Why is the "Medevac" topic such a popular one? I guess most of us just need something to complain about. Squeegie person etiquette.
Maybe you guys who live in bigger cities can help me out here.I was just driving home from a hockey game in Edmonton and had the pleasure of having a scruffy looking creep come up and start trying to squeegie my windshield at a red light. If Magellan is right, the FO pay is better than what many other similar outfits offer. Not too long ago there was an operator who shall remain nameless in Alberta who paid Ca...
