Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
Funny, I had someone ask me just the other day why it's so rare for an airline guy to go back to a 703/704 or corporate gig... And I think that guy and his attitude basically summed it up perfectly.

Re: Overdue Cargo Airplane Bound for CYXS
The search looks like its around Mt Seymore. Should be a great deal of resources in that area being so close to North Van, so lets hope for the best. https://twitter.com/wilfundal/status/587683276766236672/photo/1 Yeah right. The people in North Van are probably just upset that a plane made noise n...

Such a Shame. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there in such an awesome location. I'll have to come visit your new digs as soon as I have a free day to come out. Best of luck in the new operation!

Re: Motivation to Teach
Interesting thread, figure i'd throw in my view as a former instructor and now captain on a medium turboprop. Instructing for me was a great start to aviation. I really tried to enjoy it while I was there, and really tried to be the best instructor I could be, not just using it to "build hours". Aft...

And when you go to a flight school, try asking the grumpy looking guy who looks like a janitor his opinion. It just might be SSU!

Re: Ice Pilots Season 5 discussion...
I heard this is the last season. I heard Justin bought an aviation company and one of Buffalos crashes they found was a 1000 pounds over gross and transport was gonna drop the hammer once and for all. All rumour of course 1000lbs over gross in the baron? DC3? electra? and don't even try and tell me...

Re: Law school sounds alot like flight training...
Sounds like (similar to aviation) someone who is bitter because they didn't get exactly what they wanted, which was a cushy high paying job right out of school. In aviation, in law, and in every industry weather you need an education for it or not, you will always get from it what you put in, and yo...

Interesting, as I heard the Devils were using AC on their canadian road trip, and I figured that was due to cabotage.

most likely as typo, as I looked at the current CAP GEN and it has the same example, but it lables the 1380 as your MDA (5), and 471 as your HAT(6)

For the most part I agree. But I will say I am excited for company to implement iPads, because Jeppson and their philosiphy of having binders that are 1" too small for how many plates are in them, and having to update them every 14 days makes me a little bit stabby. other than that, I don't really c...

Re: Wait time on the ground!?
I'm not sure about wait times, but IMO, If you're already in the area I'd apply to get a ground job. The experience and people you meet will always be invaluable through your career. If the wait is short, all the better, and if the wait is long, from everything i've heard it would be a great place t...

Re: Constant Speed Props
Yes. I'm being sarcastic. I always taught my students to lean on the ground, when using carb heat, and not to go full lean when descending. Not only that, but usually I did my job right and they also knew the reason why they did these things, other than the fact that I said so (which is usually the ...

You only want to lean the mixture on the ground to save fuel and engine costs to maximize profit.... because you are part of the greedy FTU scam rampant across Canada.

Re: Co-pilot course.... Interesting.
Money Grab? C'mon! Some people are so angry at flight schools that everything they do is a "money grab". There IS a demand for this, and if it's a money grab then so is offering Flight training at all. I hate to break it to y'all, and I especially hate to be channeling my inner Kevin O'Leary, but pe...
