So, please, feel free to draw your conclusions based on accurate information (good or bad..that's entirely up to you) Below is info on B787 pay scales ONLY. I do not know about the...

Re: Air Canada Express Carrier EVAS Air Now accepting applications from pilots holding foreign licences/qualifications
The hiring specifications are often custom made to fit the group of TFW they intend to hire and exclude otherwise Canadian applicants. Gilles, while I applaud the tireless work that you have put in to protect Canadian jobs, I would say that in THIS instance, it does not APPEAR to be the case (requi...

Re: Canjet Airlines Layoff 21 Pilots Effective February 2015
My sympathies to everyone affected by this. Being out of work is never fun. For anyone interested or just in need of a job for 2yrs(bond duration), there is a lot of hiring going on over here for pilots with 737 experience. Capts with 2000hrs PIC on 737 are being hired as direct entry B787 CAPT, and...

Did they stop offering Universal? I've been using that version for around 1.5yrs (approx) and have been happy with it. I really hope they don't run this version into the ground though, I'm not interested in paying an annual fee just to have my logbook in my phone.

Life at QR.... This place is indeed far from perfect. Both the company and the country leave much to be desired. There is a lot of room for improvement, and some days it feels as though they are taking 1 step forward and two steps back. That being said, there has been some improvement in the 3 years...

I left there in 2008 and they didn't have any benefits then. Unless they started scheduled flights, probably not (just guessing though), but there are others who would know better than I.

The scoop (from the inside) I've been at QR now for the better part of 3yrs now. This is all common knowledge here and something that has just sort of become accepted as 'what it is'. There are a few things that are not clear in the article, 1. This 'rule' is for Cabin Crew (does not apply to office...

Re: Thinking about the Middle East? QATAR interview
Good write up..just a few corrections.... There is a "gatekeeper" that tracks digital data from every flight and can identify "anomalies" or non-compliance with SOPs. The SOPs are quite clear, however, and a call into the gatekeeper's office may result in disciplinary action if there is not a good e...

Re: B737 Classic or Kingair, What is your Choice?
If you want to take the scenic route in your career, go for the Navajo job. You will have many awesome experiences and make lifelong friends. If you want to skip all that and take the expressway to the end result, take the 737 job. Airline flying is relatively mundane and rehearsed. There are positi...

Unless you have PIC >55T, it doesn't matter if your time is PIC or SIC. As long as you meet FO requirements.BE20 Driver wrote:^
just curious how much of that was PIC time (or do they put much weight in that metric)?

Been here a few months now. On the A320 fleet. Most will be assigned to the A320 fleet. If you have time on a/c >55T (121,000LBS) then there is the chance you'd be assigned to a widebody fleet, but that is by no means a guarantee.

The interview consists of 1. Technical exam 2. Interview 3. A330 Sim. The overall process was enjoyable. Business class to Doha, greeted (By Al Maha agent-Greeting service) upon entry to the terminal, helped with clearing customs. Checked in at hotel (paid by QR). Lunch was paid for by QR on the day...

Nope...Two very important words...DUTY TIME! Can't make it work... my copilot on the radios, me flying and making decisions and the relief copilot buried in the air charts Seems to me they would have had a minimum of 16hours duty available to them. Now I realize there was no mention of the point of...
