Re: What's with all the geeks on the street at Pearson

It’s a lanyard, does not mean they don’t support the cause. My ALPA days I never wore it as the ALPA lanyards are just crappy. My preference is clips at the end of the lanyard, not a hard plastic loop. I never wear lanyards usually; only the use a metal clip. I hate lanyards. HOWEVER, during these ...

Re: ICAO TC FAA to JAA license

Looking to do the conversion from Canadian ATPL to JAA ATPL. I have an EU passport and meet the JAA ATPL requirements as well as the requirements to be exempt from taking the approved groundschool. From what I understand (according to LASORS G1.5), I have to study on my own and sit the 14 exams, the...

Re: Looking for 3PDT Relay

Hmm, never saw speed controllers like that before. I'm not sure how they'd work as my DC Controller has a throttle input, 5 hall sensor inputs from the motor, and works with my 120 degree phase brushless motor. My bike draws 30 amps max when accelerating. At top speed (40km/h) I draw from 6-13 amps....

Hmm, that could be a possibility. They would definitely be cheap. I'll look into it, thanks :D

Re: Looking for 3PDT Relay

Thanks OFD. Good site! I couldn't seem to find a 3PDT that has a high enough amp rating unfortunately. What I'm looking for is an 11-pin, 3PDT relay with a DC coil (preferably 24VDC) and it has to be 30A or higher. Finding them with higher amps seems to be difficult. The application is for an electr...

Looking for 3PDT Relay

Hello,

This might be a long shot, but I'm looking for a 3PDT Relay rated above 30Amps. Anyone have any info?

Thanks

Roof fire in YZF, put out with heli bucket (PICS/VIDEO)

Great job to the Great Slave Helicopter pilot who put out an apartment roof fire in Yellowknife today (25 May 2010). http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x179/avcanada37/Yellowknife%20Fire/IMG_0260.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x179/avcanada37/Yellowknife%20Fire/IMG_0263.jpg http://i187.photo...

Re: Lake Nipigon

Try Alan Cheeseman at Wilderness North on Waweig Lake (on northwest shore of Nipigon) They've got Avgas and Jet and may have enough room to fit you in. And the lake is a good 2nm round with a large dock. Armstrong is just a 15 min drive. Rooms may be available to rent at the floatbase and they have ...

Re: Hand propping gone wrong

Whenever I've hand-spiked a plane with a passenger on board, I tell them beforehand: "If the plane starts to move when I'm not inside, there's a quick way to shut off the engine; just pull this red knob out, like this." I explain to them that it shuts off the fuel to the engine so the engine will st...

Re: Continental Flt 3407 Crash at Buffalo/Niagra Intr'nal

Not a Q400 driver, but the -100 uses lift transducers and the -300 uses AoA vanes. I'm pretty sure the -400 also uses AoA vanes. As for what the A/P does in the approach mode (assuming that's what you mean), it simply follows the command bars of the flight director. On an ILS glide slope, it flies ...
