Another tile gets pulled on the Jenga tower that is Flair right now. In Jones's world, it's never Flair's fault and litigation is the answer.

Re: 777 Funded Flair Using Insurance Customers' Deposits
Business as usual. Status quo. F50 still happening. Continue following the lemming in front of you. No cliffs ahead….we promise. Unfortunately the road ahead is being painted by 777. You are the Coyote and what you think is a road in from of you may actually be a cliff. You won't realize it until y...

Re: Is Mr Jones Lying to everyone?
Flair created a renevue generating customer in Flair and is monopolizing the profit top to bottom. Pretty simple, normal, and legal. No this whole venture is shady AF There are a lot of inaccuracies and speculation in that story from Flair's perspective. We didn't buy any aircraft from 777, most ar...

Re: Recession
The discussion of a possible recession is a very relevant discussion on a rapidly expanding airline. Growth into profitability has never been achieved by an airline in Canada and porter won't be spending millions to achieve this. They will need to have investors willing to front hundreds of millions...

Well said. This also makes WJ alpa look like fools - 2mos out from their big "win"   They're not giving this raise out of the goodness of their hearts. They are doing it because attraction and retention wasn't keeping with expansion. Were people not going because the pay or the beli...

Meanwhile at Jazz……. You can complain about how the industry is changing or you can accept it and deal with it. Porter has chosen the latter. Well said. Long time lurker, first time poster in these WJ specific threads (i think). I've been at WJ for just over 15 years. Long time commuter and a family man. I'll be the first to tell you that I don't consider myself contract savvy. I don't have other carriers contracts in my ipad and memorized on a whi...

Re: Agreement in Principle reached
Within the context of an AC FO clearing >$5000 a month this may seem like a give. For me as a 20+ CA that dreads the $2000 paycheque every January, this is a massive improvement and voting it down isn't entirely practical. This is selling your house at a high water mark that could change your life. ...

This post may not age well. I wish Flair all the best but posts like this are exactly what's wrong with aviation today.

Re: C of R Cancellation (3 Tails)
If they are sitting win the desert waiting for the call to the "big leagues" like you say, someone has to be paying the leases? If they are Flair aircraft you can either say Flair is paying that, or 777 is paying for it in which case it would circumvent the CTA decision. But one of those is true. If...

Re: C of R Cancellation (3 Tails)
So, the "story" is "they" (unnamed but alluded to) pushed the leasing companies to repossess the planes so they could get them at a higher rate? But the C of R has been cancelled. But wait...we have $150M in aircraft sitting around as spares even though we are only 1M overdrawn? If you're an employe...

Re: Porter pilots make more now
The thread is still a bit misleading. Starting FO pay is still higher at Flair. But good on Porter for stepping up their game a bit. Looks like FOs are getting no attention across the board so gains likely won't be coming from other carriers who will just copy the others. The reality is FO experien...

I'd be extremely surprised if there wasn't a Force Majeure clause in the agreement between Air Canada and Air Transat. I think the market is thinking the same thing right now.

Re: Swoop Blacklist
So, if pilot "A" heeds ALPA's request and not apply to Swoop, and pilot "B" applies and is hired, what will ALPA say to pilot A, a year or so when an agreement is put in place and all is forgiven, even accepting those that are already on Swoop's property? There's the rub. No rub. The pilot would no...

This-----------^GS is rolling the dice against 1400 solid employees to chase a nebulous profit in a niche that hardly exists. He is doing it on the backs of his crew.

Re: Swoop pilot hiring.
Swoop will get the pilots they need from those pfo'd from WS and AC, those from 703,704, those who don't give a flying F about going to AC or WS, or those looking to get time to go overseas. This is pretty much where I'm in my career: too much time to want to go into the right seat at Encore, and n...

You need to find some friends who get why they came to WJ in the first place. If you wanted it to be just like AC, there is another company you should have gone to. You can't expect the company to match your expectations when you agreed to match theirs.....

Re: Sunwing is hiring seasonal pilots
Ideally I'd love to fly seasonally DEC in the winter and then take the summer off to sail etc....maybe if SW is still around in 15 years I would consider it. Surely there must be some in Canada that are very near retirement today who would consider it?
