Re: Westjet lobbies government against AC pension moritorium
http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/story/2006/05/29/westjet-aircansettle.html I still think Milton let WJ of the hook way too easily!! Maybe re-open the case...you know...to see how "unfair" that was and put AC at a disadvantage!! It has been SETTLED! Anywho, the bottom line is AC is breach of a moral...

Re: Impressions of BCIT and its graduates?
Gotta throw my $.02 in. I went to PVI/BCIT many moons ago. Started in PVI graduated from BCIT. The course was okay in retospect. Most of the instructors were decent but like all quarters of life there are those that are unemployable anywhere else. That being said, could it have been better? Yes, but...

Re: High oil takes toll on WestJet
Many times we can only base our "facts" upon the rumors we hear. Big mistake big guy!! Pre CCAA or not, it didn't happen! Bullshite! I am ex-IAMshop steward and the years that I was there the top earner every year was? You guessed it rampies! There was some coordinated sick calling required ...

Hmm, ol Kenny loses his shirt on CJ2. Then he thinks to himself "If I buy 737NG's then WestJet has to buy CJ, then I could recoup all the losses from the second time!" Somebody always bails out Kenny when the going gets rough, I'm sure he's right miffed it didn't happen this time! :( :( Brilliant GO...

Who can be considered 'immediate family' and what sort of proof would be needed for that? Would my common law spouse (we have not claimed as such) and her daughter be eligible? Would her parents be eligible too? Could we send her daughter (under 10) on a one way to her dad unescorted? Sad that we h...

B73A and B73B
Anyone know what the difference is on the historical AME document? I'm assuming 737-100, -200 for a 73A and 737-300, -400 and -500 for a 73B. Anyone? It's not a 737NG because it pre-dates my endorsement.

ESP stock vests for 1 year after you get it. After that you can sell it at will. In other words, every month (once you have been contributing for 1 year), additional stock vests and becomes available to you. To add to that, you can't just sell them every month. You're allowed 4 trades a year from E...

Me thinks there may be a lot of mirrors with copious quantities of smoke? The 3rd quarter should tell a more accurate story as there is no planned spinoffs or share sales in legacy carriers. As I read it it looks like AirCanada the airline is basically break even in one of the strongest quarters in ...

Reservation system and all is great, however help me out with this point. Most of you will agree that Cathay is one of the supreme legacy carriers. They boast a free parking space for your car on board if you fly executive class. Not slinging dirt here but how do you configure your aircraft for mea...

CanJet has nothing to be worried about I don't think, not from Sunwing anyway. They're flying a limited schedule, CanJet has its customers. Personally I think CanJet is suffering greatly because of the following reasons: They're throwing all their eggs into the charter market while not maintaining ...

Call it a tale of two airlines. WestJet reported another disappointing quarter last Wednesday, and its shares plunged. Two days later, Air Canada also announced a quarterly loss -- but its full-year profit of $258-million was the highest for any Canadian airline in the past eight years. This guy is...

Not that this is news to anyone on this forum but rule number 1 about posting stock prices is, NEVER DO IT!!. It's too easy to make you look stupid (that's easy enough without this) BTW, WJA is up today ($10.60) but maybe down tomorrow, now do you see? I didn't think so. It ain't going up WestJet Ai...

Wow look at all the WestJetters on this thread. With all you guys wasting time on this I must assume the increase in aircraft utilization hasn't started yet. Rebel has a valid point about not wanting the competition on his credit card, and I for one sure don't want WJ on mine. Perhaps attacking Reb...

So Blastor, as the resident Anti-WJ mouthpiece tell me, why would unionising (after the little AC debacle of a couple of days ago) happen at WJ? This basically was the anti-union poster that tells anyone with half a brain that the union system is out of control. FWIW, I've been at WJ for 6 years and...
