Re: What kind of flying does Jazz do out of Montreal?
To answer # 4, quite simply because most of the hiring last year was in YUL and most of the hired are not from YUL, so lots of people just trying to get back home.

Re: Future of Regional Flying in Canada?
I see this up-gauging trend continuing with mainline CS100/300, E195s, and the like are going to start taking over routes previously flown by Q400s and CRJs at the regional level. How do you utilise fewer pilots and move the same amount of passengers? Use a bigger airplane! A route that used to see...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
Can any Jazz pilots (at AC OR thinking of going to AC) out there give insight on whether it is worth it to leave Jazz? Just want some thoughts before signing up for the new PML. I understand that movement is at a feverish pace at Air Canada, but I'm concerned that after leaving Jazz (assuming a suc...

Re: Question for the wide body guys/gals
Thanks for the quick answers! One more quick question: I see dual tillers on the some of the AC aircraft. (777,787) Do the F/Os taxi their sectors?

Question for the wide body guys/gals
I hear that F/Os on the long haul fleets get very little actual take offs and landings on the line because of priority given to captain currency or auto land verifications. I even heard a rumour of some guys not touching the controls outside of the simulator. Any truth to this? Any F/Os on the 777/7...

+1 With the number of ATPL's issued on the down fall, we could very well see this effect in the future.teacher wrote:When the pool dries up the taps will open

I would like to share my experience with Porter. I interviewed at YTZ with Porter back in june of last year, it was my first ever airline interview and a great learning experience. Re: Single pilot IFR
Your very unlikely to get a single IFR job with 250 hours. I would look into getting in the right seat of a twin, which can happen at around 500 hours, then build your experience to become a captain on a 2 crew operation. Firstly, its safer and secondly its much better experience in the eyes of a fu...

Re: PT6-28 Question
In our operation we do many gravel strips so our SOP says to keep it feathered as long as possible to avoid picking up gravel and damaging the props.

Re: PT6-28 Question
At my company we do this because some of our A100s have DC oil press gauges, while others are AC. Since we dont have our inverters on during engine startup, on the AC oil gauges, we start full-fine and as the prop comes out of feather, we put it back to feather. This confirms positive oil pressure. ...

Re: New G650 test crash
Having recently done training at FSI Savannah, I had the opportunity to take the tour of the G650 assembly line. Looks like such a promising project and those men/women put so much pride in building these fine airplanes, it hurts to see this happen. RIP to the crew.

TC King Air incident
I heard from someone that TC once had an accident involving a King Air 100 that shed its wing in flight. Since my company operates a King Air 100 that is ex-TC, i've been trying to search this incident online but i have found nothing. Does anyone have any info or a link to an accident report?
