Re: Bearskin Crash — FEB 25, 2020 — Dryden, ON

Been a while but I seem remember the nose wheel goes “shopping cart” if it dies? Brakes and throttle should have kept her straight. As I say, it’s been a while. Bearskin have tillers, or rudder steering? The chap who was hospitalized had cuts on his hands from the prop. He’s a lucky guy. Did the ge...

Re: Boeing Update, for Air Canada Pilots — News and Views

Take our guaranteed gains and wait until 2020 is the best move ACPA could make. We are at a disadvantage presently with regard to perceptions of current industry events and how AC management will seek to leverage that. That said, they have billions in the bank, they're spending billions with the Tr...

Re: Boeing Update, for Air Canada Pilots — News and Views

Don't be so sure this isn't a full contract year. Both parties can agree to open it up. That benefits the company. I expect pennies above the current picture of what is cost neutral for some significant changes that will pay off big for the company. Standing by for ATIS update from our Dear Leaders...

I didn't know that pilots who are flying 705 could do their own flight planning?...
I believe it has something to do with total amount of seats at the operator and what category they are in (704 705) if you need co authority dispatch.

Apparently this issue has raised its ugly head again. Contrary to a company memo detailing the TC memo about crew deadheading being 'crew operating in the course of their employment' - was just denied access to the YUL crew checkpoint as apparently there is a 'new' memo from TC that says our ticket...

Re: Boeing SLS and Starliner, not just Airplanes

At $2 billion ish per launch and what 11 billion already invested and it hasn't even flown. It's a major disappointment and is hindering access to space because it is way to expensive. It's also a shame the RS-25 engine they are putting on SLS is one of the best and most capable rocket engines ever ...

Re: Jazz Approach

So. Minimum cost as stated on the website $126k + tax Plus you already need a diploma or degree and you are paying for your own type rating. Bad precedent in my opinion, and that's a big investment to make that I cant imagine very many people would be able to afford. Smart on Jazz part if they can g...

Re: CATSA nonsense

A lot of time the detectors go off even if you don’t have any metal. It’s just a randomizer to keep the CATSA monkeys busy. I asked about this. Apparently there is a sensitivity setting some are turned up some are turned down. I had a pair of shoes that were 50/50 depending on the screening point.

It has been parked on the ramp outside for awhile. You can see it from airport road. They put some new sheet metal on it so she doesnt look so bad.

I dunno if it's still there

There are things moving towards the moon and maybe Mars. Just dont depend on NASA and the US Government to fund it directly. Our best chance in my opinion of getting there soon lies with the private companies. I would not be in the slightest bit surprised to see them get us back first. It is however...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines: 'No survivors' on crashed Boeing 737 max

On one hand I see this is as basically a metro 2 with the rosemount system.

Single AOA attached to a stick pusher.

I think every metro pilot is well versed in the drill SAS clutch off.

On the other hand I see how crews weren't aware, Boeing didnt tell anyone really till after Lion Air.

This accident has me worried. Jump seater from other airline. Reminds me of fedex in the 80’s. I really hope that my fears are wrong. The jump seater just got hired at a major (American?) and was supposed to start ground school shortly. United. They gave him his wings and left his seat empty in the...

Nothing about pay increase... must be by design? AC wins if anyone wants to stay at Jazz cause pay is so low. AC wins if anyone wants to flow over cause they’re so short pilots... and newbies go on fixed pay. It’s a win - win - win for AC. Personally I don’t necessarily want to go to AC.... if pay ...
