Re: Porter Pilots Unionize

I think this has less to do with a potential takeover and more to do with the present working conditions. Although management has a great group of people with an open door policy, right now there is no method of collectively bringing forth ideas and/or concerns. The pilots don't even have their own ...

No class for December, but two classes in January (one at the beginning and one at the end) and then one per month after that.

Re: Air Canada's Questionable Hiring Process.

If you are so certain how the point system works, why don't you explain it on this thread for everybody to read. You are the one who claimed to be talking to a Director who explained the application point system. As in one of my previous replies, I called out the Directors and asked them to post th...

Re: Air Canada's Questionable Hiring Process.

Not sure how you are going to get private enterprise to disclose their hiring methods, but that would be interesting to see how it all works. By the way you still haven't explained how you heard and/or know that those eight specific schools get 15 extra points and ex AF guys get nothing. Those are p...

Re: Air Canada's Questionable Hiring Process.

Curious to know how you found out the points breakdown? I've spoken to one of the directors and the hiring manager and they have explicitly stated that the bare minimum at the moment is "post secondary education." So an aviation diploma is equal to an engineering degree when it comes to fulfilling t...

Re: Taliban at YYZ ???

All that being said after reading "The Peoples Pilot" I think the gentleman should probably be paid a visit by an RCMP or CSIS type just to ensure he is not an extremist or extremist supporter that may cause trouble. Let him know he has caused concern to some fellow Canadians. It's a lot more compl...

Re: Taliban at YYZ ???

He was a sikh extremist from the early eighties who was trying to liberate the state of Punjab from Indian oppression. The Indian army killed him (and thousands of bystanders in the process) in 1984 and his death is what ultimately led to Indira Ghandi being killed as well as the subsequent Air Indi...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

Important to note that while it is possible for someone to "bs" their way through the interview, it's quite difficult to do the same on the pysch eval. Apart from a few blatant questions there really is no right or wrong answers as it just comes down to being brutally honest about yourself. If you'r...

Re: Air Canada Interviews

From what I hear they've been running interviews three times a week since the end of June, and more scheduled for next week.

Maybe they're piling up candidates before making a decision?

Any word on groundschools for August?

If you compare prices, they are the same fare on every route! the cheapest fares on both AC and WJ are pretty much identical. however, if you compare the last minute fares/last seats available on a flight, WJ is significantly cheaper that AC. so moral of the story...book early enough and you can't ...

well we've heard extensive rumours over the past 2 years about Cathay's interest in a code-share partnership with WJ. it's definitely on the cards, but until the new reservation system is up and running (1st Q 2007 is that last i heard) it's all speculation. but i see them creating some strong code-...

twizzler, WJ's OTP is based on when the doors of the a/c are closed - which is listed as controllable delay otp (this accounts for boarding delays, etc)...the other is uncontrollable. that's how it's measured. however, there are additional measurements for departure time etc, ie.
