Re: AVEOS LOCKS OUT 3000 WORKERS
This is not good news for the aircraft maintenance industry. We have seen the airlines contracting overseas for the past few years and the maintenace industry has seen its share of layoffs. I doubt if the government will step in as Aveos does not fly from Ottawa to Halifax, so Lisa could care less. ...

Should be paying at least as much as you do for your car in which case $100-$120 is the going rate.

Re: Write Tony Clement re: D-Jet
The last thing this country needs is more corporate welfare. If the D-jet cant stand on its own why should taxpayer fund the program? So some millionaire can buy the aircraft cheap? Sorry, I am not in favor of funding any millionaires hobbies or funding any corporations pipe dream. If we the taxpaye...

Re: Spanish ATC |Sickout
Why is it that when topics like this are posted, the majority of posters immediately start bashing the employees. Why is the management not held accountable? Better yet why are you not asking yourself why you are not earning this kind of cash??? Maybe the problem lays in the Canadian Aviation indust...

Re: Maintenance releas on US Experimental A/C in Canada
If the aircraft is registered in the US you need to refer to the CFR's FAR 43.17 as the FAA is the top dog on this. "(1) A person holding a valid Transport Canada Civil Aviation Maintenance Engineer license and appropriate ratings may, with respect to a U.S.-registered aircraft located in Canada, pe...

The 406 ELT implementation is not a popular decision - it is the logical decision. When you are hanging upside down in the bush at -40 it is a sound investment.

Re: Interior Cessna 172 update?
FAA Advisory Circular AC43.13-1b Chapter 9 Section 4 discusses what could be an acceptable for burn requirements etc. Be careful what you buy and do your homework. Even if it is elementary work it still requires a log entry.

Re: Ottawa getting ready to order F-18's replacement ????
The MP's must be jockeying for position on this Photo Op. If anyo of these leaches miss the first photo op they can join in at next years announcement of the same contract. Too bad they don't have "Photo Ops" when they cancel the contract. Would make a good dart board. Don't count on a fighter repla...

Re: EASA to Canadian AME
Foreign applicants need to meet the same requirements as any Canadian trying to become an AME. Just because you hold a foreign licence does not automatically get you a Canadian licence without going through the usual hoops. This holds true for any Canadians trying to get an EASA licence as well. Go ...

Re: Going rate for an annual
While we are on the topic of rip offs - don't forget to add the cost added to your annual because some shmuck refused to pay his bill. There are plenty of owners out there refusing to pay the bill for the work done on their aircraft. They do not question a $120/hour bill from their BMW dealership wh...

Your previous post said you had failed this exam 4 times. Are you still trying? If you are, I don't know why TC is still letting you without showing them you have received additional training. If you haven't got a pass after 4 times there should be some question of your training. http://www.avcanada...

Maybe they can get the cabin crew to play games with the passengers. Everybody jump. This would lighten the load and make operating a 737 on a 7 hour plus leg feasible. Otherwise I hope the Calgary passengers like views of the Golden Gate bridge.

The only way you will be able to become an apprentice is to find an employer willing to take you on. Given that you are not willing to go to school full time and then find employment, it is likely that you employer will not be willing to pay you much for your services. You will have to take a corres...

Check out the TC study guide and know where to look up the information in the matrix in CARS as these will be the questions. The exam is open book & they supply a computer. The interview can be tough but just know what is in your companies manual & you should be ok http://www.tc.gc.ca/civilaviation/...
