Yep, regardless of whether it's a travel day, hotel day or a flight day. Also regardless of the seat you sit in.

Re: Quebec Air Force
Here's a story for you, from a WW2 vet who has passed since I heard the tale... As an aircraft mechanic on a military contract job at a Quebec airport (I have no idea which one), he was working in a well secured hangar, which housed a number of f-15 or f-16 fighters painted with the fleur de lis. I ...

A thing of beauty, I don't know why, but I just love the looks of her!! It's gonna take a lottery win for me to ever afford one!!! Shame about the CF-100, you'd think there would be a few flying models left!! Thanks for the pictures, I just recently found a history of the T33 by David McLaren at a m...

Re: RCAF History Forum
Thoroughly enjoyable history lessons!!! Thank you! Question: I'm a T33 nut and would love to one day have the money to restore one to flying condition, of which there are a few, but I've never seen a CF-100 in flying condition or in private hands (other than on poles or rotting away). Are there any?...

Re: Red lights in the night sky Sept. 8
I don't buy into much of this stuff, though I find the idea exciting (too much Star Trek) but I did hear from a group of family and friends who saw what you are describing (red lights moving around, stationary and fast moving) over the Sundre, Ab (Burntstick Lake to be specific) area last week, thou...

Re: Airdrie Air Show - Snowbirds - then there were 8?
Caught the sunday show, snowbirds were great as usual. The F-18 had some kind of malfunction and cut it's performance short. Everything else went great. Had a good chuckle, in the morning while the RC's were flying, the announcers explained how the RC snowbird plane/pilot was called the voodoo doll ...

Re: North Cariboo gets BAE146?
Performance history aside, does anyone have any details about NC operating a 146. Don't ask the obvious 'why?' but I've always wanted to fly a 146. I'm assuming it'll be a rig machine, but maybe they have other plans...

you only had to look down 2 lines to see that this has been posted and well discussed. And what the F@#$ do you mean you blame the government for this? What did you want, a bail-out for bad business planning? Our government hasn't gone far enough yet to cut back on all the stupid/wasteful/criminal s...

And thus the reason why I don't believe it's the western world that's holding back on alternative energy/fossil fuel replacements, as per some peoples steadfast belief, it's the middle east. If I were to invent the cure to fossil fuel addiction tonight, I'd be dead by morning and my 'invention' woul...

don't worry whiteguy, I'm sure they'll be getting resumes from 'volunteers'... I'm actually curious as to the 5000hr requirement, I can't see that being an insurance requirement (way too high) but more of a comfort thing. To attract that kind of time, I would think advertising a lifestyle as opposed...

Re: Man dead after being stunned by Taser in Winnipeg
I think that the problem with tasers is selling and treating them as non-lethal(please don't say 'duh'). This has several consequences, obviously, some as stated by others that they are used as a convenience (as seen in several videos) by police or with undo thought, care etc., but what about the du...

In regards to the above, fair enough, the world owes us nothing regardless of anything we know or do. But most, if not all of commercial aviation has survived on presenting the paying public with the notion that pilots and maintenance are complete professionals, and are thus expected to behave so. G...

Just out of curiosity, when does AC & Jazz union contracts come due? A strike would open a lot of skies for a short while to get some market share, and there would likely be many pilots to choose from. If you had all your ducks in a row, someone could certainly jump on such an oppurtunity and make i...

Any guesses as to a particular model of the MD-80. From my quick research and vast (none) knowledge of the plane, I would think the -87 would be nice for smaller markets and, with the -88, has EFIS. The other models don't appear too terribly different, so maybe it would be cheaper to get the more co...
