Re: Which Regional Airline would you like to work for

any of those would be a huge upgrade for me. Plus, I'm single with no house or kids so that really helps and if things keep up the way they are going and anyone sees these dropping pay rates as 'better than where i am', well you NEVER will be able to afford a house, get married or have kids. I'm no...

Re: ...my BIGGEST pet peeve regarding ALL pilots and cabin crew

kinda unrelated here, but why are Doctors the only ones with their own tick box next to title on the forms as far as jobs.. no one else introduces themselves as "Teacher Jones" or "Electrician Kelsey"... but for some reason "Doctor Harrison" is OK. Just curious if that bugs you. "Pilot water wings" ...

Re: global report on pilot flight duty times

OK - i admit i have not read this entire thread in detail, mainly because the 1st page ripped me up - when someone says a 14 hour duty day , there is NO SLEEPING involved. I just opened up my log book in a random spot and found 10 days in a row with over 6.6 flight time in all them - the highest was...

Re: What's the difference?

yes, they should have specified what field of AME they were looking for.
that would be the same as asking for "a pilot" - when they really wanted a float pilot with 1000 on a Grumman Goose. Same thing, but not at all the same.
Better luck next time, your skills are needed out there, believe me!

Re: Spouse Afraid of Flying?

mmmm..kay... i don't have a spouse that is afraid of flying ( ) but way back when, had a student that was. He only decided to take up flying, not to get his license, but to overcome his fear. I thought that was pretty cool. bad thing is, though, our first flight involved a power loss and a pr...

Re: Time to salute the heros of the Ottawa Airport Authority

Funny how they cut them now in a 'time of crisis'. Their fee went to $15 shortly after 9/11 because they predicted fewer travellers and had to make up the shortfall. Hmm... kinda reminds me of income tax - wasn't that "temporary measures" in a time of need? i'm not that old, BTW. i'm just saying. A...

"Many United employees, are unhappy that United's management decided to set aside stock worth roughly $130 million to fund a new incentive plan for executives while the company plans to cut routes and lay off as many as 1,600 employees." if that IS true - i'd be flipping livid... the whole hat issue...

i also find aircraft to not only be quieter than your average Harley (sorry Doc) , city bus or suped up Mazda, but planes tend to be quieter than protesters' drumming and politicians' incessant whining and generally achieve a hellavu lot more. this politician is an IDIOT. I flew over Mirabel a few m...

it's too bad that First Air and CDN North don't go anywhere warm or tropical - that service rocks. Glad to hear you enjoyed your flight, Doc, but if you ever want to eat a feast, fly North! The same kind of service, but way way better with vino and special coffees (hot cookies, too if i recall...yum...

i don't think the athletes should pay for this by not going to the event they have trained for the past years of their lives, and had no say on where the games would be held. Maybe (HA!) the IOC had reform in mind when they picked China... pffft. China has GOT to snap out of it and get out of TIBET!...
