Re: VFR report point coordinates

I've uploaded some VFR waypoints in GPX format for the Vancouver area, in case anyone else might find them useful: http://www.naviatorapp.com/vancouver_vfr_wpts.gpx

Re: 100LL Prices

Yeah, I know some of the info is outdated. But my point is if people want to create a separate forum here to do what has already been built by COPA, why not just focus the effort on updating the fuel prices on COPA's web site? Maybe provide a link to the COPA site from a sticky post on avcanada or s...

Re: 100LL Prices

Just a suggestion, but why not use the COPA Places to Fly (http://archive.copanational.org/PlacesToFly/index.php)? Seems kind of counter-productive to reinvent the wheel.

Re: 48÷2(9+3)

No you're right. It's the same thing. 2(9 + 3) = 2 * (9 + 3). The multiplication symbol is implied when you put a number beside the parentheses. The answer is the same but the operation is not; though 2x = 2*x the difference is 2x is one number while 2*x has two, both the x and the 2, this is why t...

Re: 48÷2(9+3)

No because like I said, there is an implied multiplication between the 2 and the parentheses.

Rewrite it as 48 / 2 * (9 + 3). Really, this is grade 5 level math.

Re: 48÷2(9+3)

48 / 2 * (9 + 3)
= 48 / 2 * 12
= 24 * 12
= 288

I can't believe half the people who have voted think the answer is 2.

Re: Online VNCs for flight planning

ForeFlight App has VNC, Hi/Chart overlays.....all free.....pretty nifty app actually There is a pro option which is like $75 a year. It includes approach plate and airport diagram overlays. Actually it's free for 30 days and then the subscription is $75/year. The pro option is $150/year. As far as ...

Re: Online VNCs for flight planning

ODF you are probably right. It really bugs me that navcan doesn't make any of their data available in a useful digital format.

Would it be better to have access to geo-referenced digital charts even if they cost money rather than have access to none at all?

Re: Online VNCs for flight planning

This is something I desperately want Nav Canada to make available. I'm working on an Android app and right now I can only offer it to American pilots because there is simply no reliable data for Canada. It's totally depressing when you compare all the innovations that have been made in the USA v.s. ...

Re: Freelance instruction hookup website?

I also think a feedback mechanism would be important. When I was in university I used a web site, http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ to help me decide which courses I should register for. If there was more than one class for a course, I would make sure I chose the one with the best professor. I think ...

Re: Stop The Meter On Your Internet Use

The new deal the CRTC is imposing, is that the small ISPs will buy bandwidth from the big telcos the same as any other customer, but at a discounted rate. The difference between their bulk rate and normal retail rates is where they will earn their money. Just how much their customers will have to p...

I haven't used it, but the FAQ says it doesn't include Canadian charts or data. Does this unit include maps of Canada?
