Re: Delta bought some of WJ because the pilots are so cheap?
So please answer how WJ is even close to AC? I have not done a thorough costing comparing these latest contracts, but did do a WJ CA1 vs ACPA contract comparison. I can give you a rough outline though. AC Top 737 CA: $311.89/hr * 900 hrs/yr guarantee = $280,701 WJ Top 737 CA: $297.46/hr * 930 hrs/y...

I don't work for WJ anymore. Haven't for some time. I work for Employment and Social Development Canada now. Didn't stop you from being an ALPA apologist on every other thread... Now you're distancing yourself. Are you sure you don't actually work for ALPA? "You can't lose any battle if you never f...

Re: WJ Merger Committee should he ashamed
- Imagine being a 9 year WJ FO in YYZ who has been waiting patiently for an upgrade, and now you have to fly with a junior Sunwing Captain who was only hired in 2022? Imagine finding out he also getting paid as a Westjet Captain? Seems fair right? - Imagine finding out that guy who ended up at Sunw...

Re: WJ Merger Committee should he ashamed
I got a buddy at WJ. He has some SWG guy gain 3 years on him. Another buddy saw someone gain a year. I have another buddy who's dad was at Alaska before he retired. He saw some Virgin guy gain 7 years on him. Some gained 8. That happens in every merger. EVERY ONE. Canadian North gained 3 years ACROS...

Re: Sunwing/Westjet
I have heard westjet wants to give multiple years of seniority added on to their pilots that started prior to the merger announcement date. Sounds like a good way to divide a pilot group. There was some thing floating around some chats saying that the Sunwing pilots wanted a few years of seniority ...

An honest question related to: LOL so you ain't doin shit. Riding on the coat tails of the hard fought contracts in the US. Why you even posting on a Canadian forum then? Pathetic. Of course I left...its a basic math exercise. Do you think I'm stupid? As a 3rd year FO I make more than any airline pi...

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority
The Sunwing merger committee is likely to (if they haven't already) attempt to argue that they should slot in ahead of all Encore pilots with the reserved number. Including cadets? My assumption is yes. I am no expert on this matter, but I can't imagine them succeeding in putting WR at the BOTL. Ne...

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority
Thanks but Sunwing & westjet merge is not for every SWG pilots. Lots of other options on Table. Everyone has its own pririority in life...family..life style..and it's not just about $$. Just my 2 cents comment. Totally legit, lifestyle is #1. But I am still curious what most SWG guys think they're ...

Hope its gonna be a fair " merge" . What's your definitio...

Since ketamine therapy is legal what is tc’s view if someone was to use it? https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34503619/ It’s interesting for sure. It has the potential to reduce claim times and actually reduce safety risks by treating difficult mental health conditions and not to mention save lives ....

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority
well in my opinion..... Everyone holds what there seniority number can hold period. Merge DOH is fine but NO ONE out of seniority! We did this already with swoop and we all know how that went. Likely it will be pretty close to this as precedent has been set with Swoop. Although SW pilots will be be...

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority
So basically what you say is that 250hrs 2022 Sunwing recruit are going to bypass 2023 1500+hrs 2023 WestJet by simply being added to seniority list from DOH ? Almost certainly. Just like the 250hr fo hired at swg in June is senior to the 4000 hr fo hired at swg in July. That's not the same. At all...

The pay works like this: For easy math let's say you made $100/hour OLD Hourly rate $100 + 20% WSP = $120 NEW [Hourly rate $100 + 15.5% raise + 9.1% from WSP] + 10% WSP = $138.6 $120 + 15.5% = 138.6 Everyone's pay increase for year one is 15.5% overall. A lot more for people who didn't do the full ...

What are your year over year returns in the rrsp or equivalent programs? The point of investing is to make money! It's not completed. CSP was a guaranteed way to more then DOUBLE your money. WJ pilots eating at food banks with their wages? Yeah I’ll take things that didn’t happen for 3 dollars. And if they did, I’m calling incredibly poor financial sense in their part. Also Swoop is gone by next year, not 4 years. Read the AIP properly or don’t both posting such drivel, it’s embarrassi...

Everyone going on about close the gap or North American standard, etc, that is how negotiations work! Union ask...

Then we're shown the second chart which clearly shows a large...
