I hear Q400 guys all the time revising their TAS with ATC, so I'm wondering if how much they are throttling back, and why?
I'm thinking it's overpowered to compete with the jets and just not economical to use the power so company mandates economy power settings....anyone with answers??

We keep our Aircraft over at a FBO.....we taxi to the gate, and then have to get out of the plane...go through security and the right back to the plane to operate the "Secure flight"....we leave all of our guns, knives, and dangerous stuff on the plane so they don't find it in our bags as we go thro...

OOhhh don't worry boys, FIRSTAIR is still skimming 10% off each of those loads that they don't have to do anything for. It's all about the licence to do the work in Canada.

Re: Type of engine on Canadian 737s
To me this seems like a reasonable move by the FAA.
There appears to be an issue with the blades, and for the airlines to be able to do this inspection overnight without a huge expense seems reasonable to me. The optics of another failure would create a serious issue with the traveling public.

Re: Summit Air current ramp wait times (1.5-2 yrs.)
Advise..... Don't waste your time working the ramp for this outfit. The reason for this is, most of the work this company does is for companys that require the Bars Standards https://flightsafety.org/bars/bar-standard/ and the pilot flight requirements are far in excess of what a "rampie" would have...

Converting lycoming 150 to 160 HP question
http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt80/sstocker31/IMG_0909.jpg I have a very early narrow deck O-320 no suffix, that I would like to convert to 160 HP. Lucky for me, it used the very early spline nuts to bolt the cylinders on, and therefore already has long cylinder studs in place. The long studs a...

Re: Misfueling close call
It would be interesting to know if it had the big 100ll stickers that go around the fuel caps as a last warning before getting fueled with the wrong stuff.
With so many incidents like this repeatedly happening, it's amazing anyone flying a piston pounder isn't more diligent with fueling procedures.

The oil patch is like a 125 car coal train speeding down the track at 100km/hr..... when it runs out of gas it takes awhile to slow down.....next winter could be ugly if oil prices stay where they are......my thoughts

Re: First Air / Canadian North Merger ??
In my opinion....nothing but good will come out of this for the two companys. There will be employees that suffer along the way from both companys, but the end result will be a much stronger, more diversified and capable organization that can meet the needs of any northern customer. This should have...
