Now what?
What would you do? You have no other qualifications. Anything you have experience in pays little. Further education is years in the past. Living ain't cheap. You have a family, a mortgage, and bills.

Re: City Centre Medevac Study
Interesting that many MANY cities elsewhere have embraced small airports but Edmonton refuses to. Wonder how the others did it, since come on, they're losing revenue. 2010 your arrogance is amazing. That you discount the value this facility has provided for YEARS is amazing. You obviously have not s...

Re: Higher time, can't find a job
I think maybe Pitot has something there. I have seen a lot more low timers finding work than high timers. Of course I say high timers in relative terms. I have suspicions on why high timers are having a harder time but they're just suspicions. Low timers are easier to groom to the way that a company...

Re: Allowable medications
It is dangerous for Canadians to follow that list. For instance, the list shows some acceptable SSRI's, but these were only FAA approved very recently (I read about it here on Avcanada), and there's been no indication Canada has followed suit. Agreed. That's why the disclaimer that it's FAA approve...

iflyforpie, you got that right. Companies seem to want yes people, not people that have a concern for safety.

I'll second that with keeping the ATPL up to date. That's about all I'll do. At this point, there's really no benefit from adding more instrument time.

Re: Higher time, can't find a job
I'm curious as to the breakdown on those 5000 hours? (If you don't mind sharing). What kind of time is that? Turbine, PIC, multi, instructing, etc? In addition, what sorts of jobs have you applied for? Switchfoot. Nah don't mind. 90% turbine 75-80% PIC. Northern and southern, single and multi crew....

Higher time, can't find a job
Hey all - is it just me, or is it difficult for those of us with a decent amount of hours to find work? I'm sitting at a hair under 5000, with some great experience but no luck so far this season. It seems like the lower time guys are having an easier time. Is it just me?

Allowable medications
Found this online. I realize it's not a Canadian reference, but it's a great guideline for medications that may - or may NOT- be acceptable.

Not sure how this equates to a scandal at this point. It appears that someone's post went to their heads. Kudos to Steve for cleaning up cabinet. I'm sure as allegations are proven or not, that details will be forthcoming. Let's see how this game plays out.

I agree as well. You won't be up front unless you're being paid to fly.
As for the NDT comment, I'm pretty sure we're all aware what NDT is, but thanks for the lesson.
