Re: 2013 Float Pilot Predictions

I wont lie. When I saw the beaver position with those hours i said "its about time!!" and began to get excited that maybe just maybe there is hope for lower timed pilots. But than again who am I kidding. I only have 200tt and 10 on floats but I wasn't born yesterday!! haha. I know it ain't gonna hap...

Re: Air Georgian Cadet Program

Well I am more of a "watch from the sidelines" kinda guy but after hearing about this I just wanted to give my two cents. As a pilot nearing completion of his commercial with all the fixings I find it a big kick in the pants. On the other hand, I am excited just due to the fact that young Canadians ...

Re: INRAT

I had about 9 GPS questions. That exam kicked me in the a** but than again i passed with flying colours. :) I second the notion of studying everything. You cannot be weak in anything. I am not sure if you are able to, but there is a weekend course that I took that made all the difference, it was wit...

Re: Air Georgian

Anyone knows what is the hiring projection for the next 6 months? thanks From what my friends say(all work there) there is another ground school starting in the fall of this year. Apparently they need guys for Calgary. Less we not forget that you might have to fly in Halifax of Calgary even if you ...

Re: I need help with flight dispatcher course in Canada

Hey there, I second the "no dispatcher course in Ottawa" that is unfortunate. I am just trying to understand what you exactly need so here are 2 scenerios. 1. You need to be prepared to write the Transport Canada/FAA dispatch exams. In this case its just a matter of studying the right materials. You...

Re: Higher time, can't find a job

This thread seems like quite the paradox in ways. I gotta ask because it is unclear to me what happened to you guys? Laid off? Changed careers and now doing a comeback? I am a low timer but I am in no rush for hours and now reading this, it makes me wonder what the heck is the point of having those ...

Re: Airsprint Add

When I saw that AirSprint HR replied I had to chuckle. Wow.. most companies wouldn't even dare to comment on here in fear of getting chewed out. I have been on this forum for years and see it time and time again. I bet you the HR department reads this thread and regrets ever replying. Its okay AirSp...

Re: question....

Nathan, I here you when it comes to not finding a job. I have what I think may be a great solution. I know this may sound very cliche but the instructor rating is a great way to begin your career BUT!!!!! It still is not the airlines so what do you do??? Well if you are up for it and most pilots are...

Re: One answer to fix the industry

Whatever happened to the "Pilot Shortage"?!?!? You know I began flying 3 years ago and got the infamous speech "there is no better time to be a commercial pilot than now!!". Man was I excited and then 100 hours and I began to see the same old faces around the club and even more showing up each month...

Re: Ice Pilots of NWT Series on History Channel this Fall!

At Juan's age and experience, that was epic. I cant imagine taking s***t in my 50's for something like that. If Juan was a tool I would be siding with Joe, but doesn't appear that way and he fixed the plane for the next day before he told Joe where to go. In my experience you dont see guys go that e...

Re: YYZ Assessments

i asked the same question to navcanada in december. they told me that the usual assessment schedule is about every 3-4 months in most regions. that wasn't a good enough answer so i didn't hang up just yet and the lovely lady said expect one in the mid-end of winter for YYZ. only the top 50 candidate...

Servisair, you are correct, I looked back in my paperwork and sure enough, there is a second letter with just the " PASS " on it, no score...my bad. i wrote mine a few weeks ago and the first page said PASS and the score, the second page was the codes for the areas i answered incorrectly. If i may ...
