Helicopter pilot charged after landing in middle of Sask. town to buy ice cream cake
Here is a link to a news story I've been seeing for a couple of days, https://globalnews.ca/news/8103817/helicopter-pilot-charge-landing-town-ice-cream-cake/?fbclid=IwAR1K8DRlJNr7vqxCsiPjpIiRyY6OpD3oG7DUB6wG0sb7ctSBNHCzj5Z4sPk Back when I took flying lessons 40-odd years ago, we learned the pilot de...

Re: Snowbird crash in CYKA
People, I originally came here to get information on the crash, how and why it happened, etc. I was hoping to see comments on https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/snowbird-crash-report-1.5593259 about a possible bird strike. "In a preliminary report issued Monday, investigators said video footage from t...

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
Not at all. I really feel sorry for the pilot and it's a miracle he survived. If the crash hadn't happened over a busy highway with all those casualties, there would likely not have been charges. I was merely remarking on how slowly the wheels of justice turn over there. It's been 3-1/2 years since ...

"Organisers unaware of pilot's display plans"
What kind of air shows do they run over there anyway? And have the police even spoken to the pilot after 6 months?

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
I have a Google news alert for the pilot, Andy Hill, and there's not a peep, only alerts for other "Andy Hills". The last I heard was his health was not good enough for authorities to interview him. Anybody know anything?

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
I would not have mentioned these people if they were not pilots. I am not here guaranteeing that you will not get turned down because of tattoos, but it is still possible to have a career in aviation, that is all I am saying. I would certainly not chose, by any means, to go out and get covered (the...

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
That says it all. The world is run by narrow minded, politically correct people, who see sexism, racism and whatever else lurking everywhere. If you want to get hired and get ahead, you better toe the line and conform to their standards. If not, you'd better be so good at what you do that you're ind...

Re: Ice Pilots Back
That was a good episode, and sad for those of us who have had dogs. What I quite didn't understand is why TC would require Joe to shut down Buffalo if he didn't step down as Executive Officer and appoint his son to the position. Did Joe not have some certification or diploma to do the required repor...

Re: Ice Pilots Back
I wonder how much of Ice Pilots is contrived, like a bad reality show. This guy watches Ice Pilots on TV in Toronto, then applies at Buffalo to fly the old planes because it would be cool. Then he antagonizes the other rampies to the point where they gang up on him. If this is how season 6 is gonna ...

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
Well, to me a "beard" is something that's been growing for at least a month. I've had one for maybe 40 years. Anything less is either starting to grow one, trying to look like you're starting. I just don't remember seeing men with deliberate stubble 20 years ago. So I'll repeat the question. Would o...

Re: Chance of getting hired with a tattoo?
Seems this topic is just about exhausted. However, what about facial hair? I don't mean actual beards, but stubble. It seems this fashion statement came out about the same time as visible tattoos among ordinary people. I still can't get used to it and it makes me think the person is a mindless sheep...

Re: Wind turbines around airports
Although I agree with most of your now edited (in quoting you) post.... Might you have any links to solidify the points in your last post as I quoted? Since what we're discussing here is the effects of wind turbines built too close to airports, the actual unsustainability of would be off-topic. I o...

Re: Wind turbines around airports
Still like coming here from time to time, but I am not going to debate those "dam turbines" or the "green energy scam". Wind or Solar may not be the long term answer but they are a viable business that have far better margins than aviation ever will. The government do not subsidise the companies th...
