Re: Foreign Pilots flying in Canada
LOL.
So is AC considered East Coast...cause I'm sure we could pick them apart pretty good. (And I work there)
Like I said...could pick apart any Company east or west coast...dosent make a difference...let it go.

Seriously guys....give it up already. This thread pops up once a year every year...not sure if its the same people or new people coming on and not knowing that this has been discussed 100 times already. You could pick apart any Company in this industry. Don't you have something better to do on your ...

Re: WestJet Travel Passes
Sorry. Guess I wasn't clear on that one. My bad. I was referring to flight passes like AC and Porter have. Where you pay say...3k for 10 flight passes. Each good for 1 leg. WestJet use to sell them, but the site says they are not available at this time. Was wondering if anyone knows if they will sta...

They could use Jazz. But SOME of them think that if they allow their Company to use some other cheaper Tier 2 carrier that they will actually get something in return with their negoiations...IMO, not gonna happen. This is just old childish political BS between Jazz and AC that SOME people just won't...

Just curious how you know CanJet was operating out of YUL the other night on AT's OC? Whats that mean, if anything?Seems odd.

and on that note...3 of them were given jobs else where in IMP...and the 4th asked to be laid off rather than moved to a different IMP operation...they weren't just fired or laid off!

Re: Westjet Hiring
Hi,
I was wondering if someone on here can PM me to chat about they YHZ port system (schedule), current pay, company future etc. Just would like some insight from someone on the inside before I put in a resume.
Thanks,
CJ6

Re: Pa-31 power reduct.
X15, No Navajo's are not the same as Cessna's when it comes to the mixtures, there is no altitude compensation built in to the mixture system. And as far as going full rich on final approach, that was the SOP for the company I flew for. But when you do put them full rich on final do it gently (I was...

Having landed at that airport many times, and on that runway when wet, I have to fully agree with JJJ. As soon as that runway becomes even a little bit wet, its just like its contaminated with ice...its weird. No idea why it happens.

Re: jazz interview questions
Though I don't entirely agree with what he is doing...he has a point. Jazz (and other companies) brings this on themselves with their pay, hard to keep guys around with 36K initially a year and 10yrs in the right seat. Its a 2 way street...if only we could figure this out, maybe the industry wouldn'...

Have a buddy who just left there, said they were quite disorganized. The pay was not great...he was making about 48K after 3 yrs. But it may vary from machine to machine. You are on rsv. 17 on 3 off...or 14 on 3 off, one of those 2. There is no movement there cause a lot of the captains are ex AC an...

Re: Pa-31 power reduct.
425C is actually a AOM limitation/specification for cruise (J2BD), personally I liked it about 400C. But anything in that range is perfectly acceptable and not that hard on it...to keep it around 380C you will not get your 240lbs/hr fuel flow and will not run them as clean. I've run them that way fo...

Re: Pa-31 power reduct.
For PA31 TOC power reductions.... 1)100' below level off call cowl flaps closed 2)Level off at alt. 3)Accelerate to 150 kts, then call for cruise power, cruise checks 4)PNF then reduces MP to 31"" and then props to 2200 rpm (as you pull the props back the MP will increase so initially pull MP to 30'...

Re: Heard a rumour... CanJet to close YHZ base?
Driver, you are right. Not a whole lot of flying is done out of YHZ comparative to YUL and YYZ, and downsizing YHZ would be desirable to the company. But, the one (only) thing we have going for us is our CA. There is only one base stipulated in our contract, and that is YHZ...so in order for YHZ to ...

Re: Canjet losing Transat flying?
Hogster330... Not trying to stir the pot, just asking for my own insight. But how, out of that article, do you get 737-800? With the 5yr contract (which I know can be broken) with CanJet, Transat won't be able to do it cheaper than what CanJet is doing it for, at least not in my opinion. And this "n...

True North...au contraire...we have more than enough people applying to work for us, that is not an issue. Like I said, we just couldn't pump them through training quick enough. Needed someone to fill the gap temporairly.

Re: Canjet losing Transat flying?
First off, I have never met a King Air capt. that made 100+k, at least not in Canada. Secondly, people love to focus on the fact that we had Germans working for us (this was their last year), rather than the fact that CanJet has created more pilot jobs in the last few years than any other company in...

Re: Canjet losing Transat flying?
I may be wrong...but hasn't/didn't Transat try to introduce a narrow body fleet into the company a while back, but the pilots wouldn't accept the salaries that the company wanted to pay them to fly them. So if what I said was true, they are complaining about outsourcing, and the company being stagna...
