Re: IAM trying to get Sky Reginal/Rouge
The sad thing is, the IAM is by far the worst groups of employees AC has in the system. Some of the stations (YYT, YWG and few others are not too bad) unfortunately you end up always having to lump them in with the workers of YYZ, YOW, YUL etc.. The funny thing is the worst ramp crews in our system ...

Every one is sh!ting on Encore for paying King Air wages for a Q.. I hope I am wrong but I bet this outfit will probably want similar wages to fly a 320.

Re: Accident in YRL Nov 10, 2013
Metro is NOT transport category. Commuter category. And some are normal category with SFAR41 which makes them pretty much commuter category. You're confusing this. You're right in the fact a Metro flies under 704 (commuter) regulations. The aircraft however (being above 12,500lbs) is certified as a...

Re: 2014 Hiring
If someone is going to be based outside of YYC (say YYZ or YVR) do they get hotel accommodations/per diems for their GS in YYC?

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks
Yes that's true. WJ will be sending one a month or every other month back starting in July. We will be wet leasing the replacements from Croatia, as well as the pilots. Good news is our flight attendants will be working the back providing the world class service we continually win awards for. Its 4...

Re: Flying in light/moderate icing
And you sir or mame are the type of person that promotes operators to push their pilots "because the last guy did it". You're either going to kill yourself, hurt your self or be lucky and not get hurt yourself. The latter is more concerning because the next guy may get pressured into doing what you'...

Thanks for the info, I did not realize the aircraft had them already provided. I will definitely take your advice and sanitize every time I jump in a new airplane though!

Just curious what everyone does for headsets? This is one thing I have not seen come up in the discussions. I currently have a clarity aloft headset. What does everyone else use?

Re: Equipment Bid
Thanks for the clarification, obviously ill need to re read some of it - I missed that part. I'd personally have probably bid for an RP position after a year or two if I had become an EMB FO but now realizing it would take my unrestricted bid that may change things. Here is hoping there are some RP ...

Re: College of Pilots?
Some people will pay either $50 or $60 depending on what airline company they work for. ACPA and other pilot groups donated money to the College and the College is extending a $10 discount to those who are part of the unions or associations that have contributed already.

Re: Equipment Bid
Hi thanks for the input guys. My understanding is you get 5 restricted course rights. I thought if you start with an EMB FO position you could use your RP restricted course right to bid into an RP position. Also if I am able to obtain a YYZ 767 RP position will I need to use a course right to get a ...

Equipment Bid
Hello everyone, I am in the Sept GS course and am curious to know what impact the Aug Equipment bid will have on people in my course. How long does it take for the bid awards to be official? Will that end up opening spots around the company (say YUL or YVR spots) or does it take more time to see the...

Re: Radio Chatter In YRL!
Not everyone at PAG deserves the reputation that they have, but there is some reason for it. I admit some of the calls you hear in NWO are pretty minimal, but that being said, if you happen to be inbound to one of these spots, most guys will reply with all the detail you need if you just ask. A lot...

Re: Radio Chatter In YRL!
a floatplane offering a low-blow (although well deserved) at perimeter, I must ask what is your problem with Perimeter? Yes I fly for them, though I rarely go into NWO when I do go to ZSJ, ZPD or other such places I hear Wasaya "taxing deer for sandy" that's it... No runways no altitudes nothing. A...

Re: North Cariboo Single Engine
"Check for fire?" "Check engine indications" ok ignore SOP and shut it down anyways.... I do not know what type of plane you fly so it may be different for aircraft unable to maintain single engine flight. With our SOPs ignoring SOPs would be to try and dick around and see if the problem is legit. ...

Heard through the grape vine that Calm Air may be laying a few people off? Any truth to that?
