Re: Working at Westjet is "hell" according to f/a's
What a JOKE!!!!! It constantly amazes me how the uneducated and impulsive get quoted and then it is deemed as gospel. I can guarantee you that any FA who says working for WestJet (or AC for that matter) is 'Hell" has NEVER, EVER had a real job in aviation (or any other industry for that matter) to c...

Re: Westjet to start ultra low cost carrier
Please elaborate Because you obviously know nothing about operating an airline in an extremely cost competitive environment. I ask you - How many airlines have come and gone trying to do business in an environment with the price of fuel, manpower cost expectations, maintenance costs and foreign exc...

Re: Why?
Hey Rudder!!! If you have so much issue with the pay in the industry... CHOOSE ANOTHER CAREER!!!! The low pay in aviation is not news!!!! From the day I got started back in '87 I wasn't ignorant to what I was getting into. Many of my classmates are no longer in it for the same reason... but they did...

:supz: I'm sorry. I thought that this was an aviation website and most people on here had some aviation background (or at least some common sense). People that might look at promoting safety in aviation by identifying risks and hazards and mitigating them to a manageable level. I guess I was wrong. ...

I hope she's successful with her suit. Sometimes the passengers require due consideration, regardless of the opinion of the goose stepper who thinks she's in charge. If I had an FA kick off a service dog, she'd be getting off with the dog. We moan and groan about being PC......but ONLY when it suit...

Whaa Whaa Whaa.... We pilots are such a bunch a babies - we (Canada) finally get a new "real" airline with the opportunity to provide an additional employment route within a very limited industry and all we can do is bitch and moan about the pay (or lack ther of)!!!! Ahh unions... protectors of the lazy and incompetent.
There was a time and place for them (coal mining and early 20th century manufacturing comes to mind). In this day and age there is no place for them - again... protectors of the lazy and incompetent. Oh yes, and also... the greedy.

How about... "Openly said we're going to pay pilot's 80% of the industry standard and continue to make canadian aviation sh*ttier for pilots" I dunno if it would fit across the Q400, but worth a shot Feeling entitled or just bitter... we all have to work are way up somehow. Long enough to know that once you get passed the smile and handshake that there is something deep rooted and that it is a personal agenda that is driving him. An agenda that has nothing more than his best interests at heart; the aviation industry to him is simply a potential liability on his career....

Well Hedley... You have just proven that you have no sense or judgement - wonder why you are still alive after defying gravity for so long. Ah yes ... the so-called "train to standard" rather than demonstrated competance. How safe were these guys when they were flying the absolute minimum hours necessary to keep current?

Exactly!
No loss exept for the free-be training and the God Complex to have oversight of 5000+ hrs on type guys/gals with only 100+ on-type them selves.
