Guys excellent Ideas.... I will consider the adhesive strip and as far as getting unclued and falling in ... it will never happen because there is a solid plate under the piece that has the Lettering of ...ie throttle ... mixture etc... It should be fine and of course I will consult the AME for prop...

I have found an LED replacement PAR36 light from a Company that makes them and according to their customer service and tech support they are a replacement for 450...

Im not sure if it is appropriate but a barter is what im after.. I have a high performance single and willing to give out block time minus the fuel of course in exchange for mainenance /Annual inspection if and when needed... Only PM .. Let me know if any AME / Pilots with some time are interested.....

Having done Lots of these myself as flight crew i can say, it is good flying and it breaks away from the norm scheduled routine..
The pilots are not always the same(usually a 3 to 4 day pairing) crew doing the flying but the back end crew is always the same..
They stay with the team all season...

VFR only what i meant to say i can use the LOC/GS and comms but not the gps to do approaches since it will be a straight 430 not a W.. But i wanted to use the build in VR LOC/G/S for a second unit to my already king VOR LOC/GS. looks like ill find a good honest Avionics guy to do the job along side ...

I totally understand..
Do you think that after the work is done( i enjoy doing that type of thing) the AMO will sign it out?...of course after he gets paid and he is satisfied with the work?..or they don't do things like that?

Here is a question..
If someone has the know how and wants to install a GNS 430 for VFr use only in his own airplane can he do that without having an AME Avionics license?
Just curious as to the rules.....
IF So who can then make the entry in the logbook for the install?
