Re: East Coast friendly Jet Jobs
If you’re interested in a 604 position, there’s Sobey’s, Oxford/Shaw in YHZ. There maybe a couple of more I can’t think of. In YSJ there’s the 3 Irving flight departments, Irving Air Service, Ocean Aviation, and Irving Oil Transport. Shoreland Transport (Cooke Aquaculture) is also there. McCain’s is...

Re: Q400 & Dash 8 classic mixed fleet
PAL has the classic and Q crews split. Only ones checked on both are in the training department.

Re: AC Express PVL flying?
PAL does not have any Q’s on the west coast. All our AC Express flying is YOW and east, BOS and EWR.
Re: Newark
I’m not corporate anymore, but fly in and out of EWR with PAL Airlines. Most days there are ground delays, especially after lunch. On an IFR day most EDCT’s are an hour to upwards of 3hrs.

Re: First Officer Schedule
All the PAL Q's are in the standard PAL white livery. No plans for the AC Express paint as far as I know. It would be nice, but the airplanes rotate through YYT and YUL bases and do PAL sched flights and charters. I'd love to see just AC Express dedicated airplanes with new interiors. As far as rese...

Re: First Officer Schedule
Can’t speak for YUL, but YHZ is all AC Express flying, BOS, EWR, YOW, and a little bit of NL flying. Mostly day pairings, odd 2 day, and a couple split/continous duties. Junior pilots are mostly reserve, with a couple pairings. 12-14 days off a month. I haven’t done an overnight since January. Prett...

Re: Fleet Reduction
Personally I think PAL is only being used as a stop gap until AC acquires more aircraft, and eventually PAL’s AC flying will be taken over by jets. Either JAZZ or mainline. The YYT, YOW, YQX, BOS and EWR routes out of YHZ should be done on a jet.

Re: PAL and Air Canada CPA Agreement
PAL has leased another hangar in YHZ that fits the Q400, and if I am not mistaken about a dozen maintenance personnel working there now.

Connect is done, their CA has been revoked and two of the tails are sitting in parked in YHZ. One missing an engine.

It is not PAL, and our skippers are making more than what is advertised on that above mentioned site.

According to PIVOT’s Linkdin page, they have acquired Q’s and more CRJ200’s. No mention of what they are doing with them.

Things in YHZ are good. All AC flying as mentioned above. Right now just 2 day pairings. Usually 3 flights a day. Combination of return flights to YOW YDF YQX and YYR. It’s very much an AC operation, feels like my old days at Air Nova. (I didn’t come here from JAZZ, just for the record) The AC CSR’s...

Re: JD Irving Ad
I spent 18 years there. Great bunch of people to work with, miss most of them 😉. The Irving family were really good to me, and as mentioned in a previous the job security is second to none for aviation. The Rothesay, Quispamsis area is a great, safe, place to raise a family. If you are interested in...

Bede is right, both good airlines, but there is only one sure bet for 20 years down the road, and like it or not that is the big red maple leaf.

My guess you’ll hear back next week. HR took forever to get me an official written job offer, even after the chief pilot had me scheduled for training.
